#September11: Remembering and Honoring. Today, September 11th, we commemorate the anniversary of one of the most impactful events in recent history. The attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City changed the world as we knew it, leaving an indelible mark on our collective memory. On this solemn day, we come together to pay tribute to the 2,977 lives lost and the thousands injured. We remember not only the direct victims but also their families, friends and all those whose lives were forever altered. 9/11 taught us about: 1. Resilience: The ability of New York and America to recover and rebuild. 2. Unity: How tragedy can bring people together beyond differences. 3. Heroism: The countless acts of bravery by first responders and ordinary citizens. As we reflect on this day, it's crucial that we keep alive the spirit of solidarity and compassion that arose from the ashes. In our workplaces and communities, we can honor the victims by continuing their legacy of courage and determination. I invite everyone to share their reflections and keep the memory of those we lost alive. Together, we can build a stronger, more united future. #NeverForget #Resilience #Unity

So, I came across this heartbreaking video showing the skeletal remains of baby birds that perished while waiting for their mother to return and feed them. Tragically, their mother never came back because she was killed. This poignant image reminds me of the countless victims of conflict and war around the globe and how the impact can devastate entire future generations. When a person is affected by conflict, the repercussions extend far beyond the individual. Families and communities suffer life-threatening and irreversible adverse effects. The loss of a single parent, like the mother bird, can mean the loss of hope and survival for those who depend on them. This stark reminder underscores the urgent need to end wars and embrace peace. By advocating for peace, we ensure that victims of conflict, like these baby birds, have their loved ones return to them. It is through peace that generations can thrive, children can grow, and societies can flourish. Let us work together to create a world where every parent comes home to their children, where the future is not marred by the shadows of violence but illuminated by the light of hope and peace. #PeaceBuilding #EndWar #SocialJustice #FutureGenerations #GlobalPeace

#WeRemember. The day our city was changed forever. Theresa is a remarkable example of resiliency, just like our city has been. If you get a chance, read her #SurvivorStory in the link below.
29 years ago, our community was forever changed. #WeRemember those who were killed on April 19, 1995, and pay tribute to the brave and selfless first responders who confronted danger head-on. We are honored to have Theresa Howell, a MACU staff member and Oklahoma City bombing survivor, share her remarkable story. Theresa believes good things come with tragedy — her faith only grew stronger after that fateful day: "I always look for the light in any dark situation because, with the grace of God, there is always light and His blessings." 🙏 Click here to read Theresa's full story: https://bit.ly/3Uojp0b

Reflecting on 9/11: A Call to Teach Future Generations Today, we pause to remember the tragic events of 9/11. For those of us who lived through that day, it’s impossible to forget where we were, how we felt, and the profound impact it had on our lives. But as the years pass, the memory of 9/11 risks becoming more distant for the younger generations who didn’t experience it firsthand. It’s our responsibility to ensure they understand not only the events of that day but also the resilience, unity, and bravery that followed. Sharing these stories isn’t just about recalling tragedy—it’s about teaching important lessons in compassion, courage, and the strength of community in times of adversity. We owe it to the victims, the first responders, and everyone affected to keep these memories alive. Let’s make sure future generations understand why we remember 9/11 and why it continues to shape who we are today. #NeverForget #September11 #TeachingTheFuture #Resilience #Unity
