It combined the wisdom of people who have experienced human services with the efforts of people designing the IT systems to help our states, counties, and cities better serve our children and families. Ubuntu-I am because we are Sawubona- I see you A really important message in thinking through how can we truly see the people we serve? And how can we make sure they are seen in the systems we design to serve them? #ISMPHSA2024
We're definitely heading home inspired after this morning's interactive lived experience workshop focused on how we can put the heart into our IT and human services systems. Benu Amun-Ra, Dedria Johnson, and Princess Mack—all part of the Colorado Department of Human Services Family Voice Council—were joined by representatives from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to discuss the importance of retaining youth input and offer techniques on integrating it into a responsive information system. "Have the audacity to disrupt the system so we can make it better for the next generation." - Benu Amun-Ra #ISMPHSA24
