In May 2024, engineering resin prices are rising due to increased demand in some markets and production. Polyethylene (PE) prices increased by €0.035 per kilogram in April, partly due to higher exports now accounting for 45% of PE production. Another €0.035 increase is expected in May, although some buyers anticipate a potential price drop. Polypropylene (PP) prices fell by €0.115 per kilogram in April and could drop another €0.08-€0.09 in May, offsetting earlier increases this year.
