To prevent such incidents and their aftermath, The company involved must conduct a thorough investigation and implement stricter safety measures for all blasting activities. The local government should enhance security at mining sites, limiting public access to prevent unauthorized entry and potential confrontations. Comprehensive evacuation and emergency response plans must be in place and regularly practiced with numerous on site drills and scenarios, even when the perceived risk is low. This seems to be an oversight by the foreign mining company. Community Liaison should be hired to improve communication with local communities about mining activities and safety measures could help reduce tensions and prevent violent reactions like the attack on workers and vandalism of the construction camp. Regular safety audits and HSE training for all workers should be mandatory to maintain a culture of safety awareness. Authorities should establish clear protocols for incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions to ensure accountability and prevent future occurrences.
