Motus Group said it had signed an agreement to sell its Mercedes-Benz dealership Motus Truck & Van to Saga, the wholly owned subsidiary of RCM in France. The first quarter new vehicle sales stats are out. There were no surprises in the top few best sellers. In the US, the market remains dominated by pickups, CUV and SUV with a few sedans holding good market share. What was interesting to me is that the #20 entrant on the list was the Ford Transit van. These vans continue to gain popularity with a variety of customers. Along with the Transit are the Ram Pro Master and Mercedes Sprinter. Think beyond commercial delivery and service users. They are very popular with upfitters and consumers looking for a platform that is highly customizable and useful. Dealers will continue to see demand grow for van tires.
