Has #ArabHealth replaced #Medica? I've been asked that again and again recently. Not in my opinion! The high number of exhibitors still speaks in favour of Medica: 5800 vs 3500; however, according to the count, the number of visitors at Medica is less... approx. 80,000 to 100,000. This is also confirmed by this year's exhibitors... there is less going on than before the pandemic. Since the pandemic, ArabHealth has presented itself as a very digital, futuristic and extremely innovative trade fair. In contrast, Medica is old fashioned, also in terms of its media presence. However, for medical technology companies that want to enter the European market, Medica is absolutely the most important. ... also in terms of the quality of the exhibitors. What do you think?

Medtech in France – Navigating the Go / No Go decision Update N°2 : How long for reimbursement? 🇫🇷 For a medical device, how long does it take to obtain a dedicated reimbursement with an official publication of the price ? Around 277 days 🗓️ In January 2024, the latest annual report issued by CEPS has highlighted the timelines of all the files submitted for reimbursement in the year 2022 : first request, renewal, modification. Cf. Table 16 🚵♀️ The reimbursement process shows 7 stages (less than for the Tour de France but slightly longer 😉) with 2 key very high mountain stages : stage #1 for clinical outcomes with CNEDiMTS (HAS) and stage #4 for pricing negotiations with CEPS (MoH). Cf. picture 21 ⏱️ According to the law, the filing process is supposed to last 180 days to get the price of reimbursement published by JO (Journal Officiel). But some stop & go decisions by CNEDiMTS can freeze the clock time to request amendments of the dossier with more details. Pricing negotiations with CEPS can be extended smoothly by both parts to meet a fair agreement. Cf. picture 22 🏁 At the end of this Tour de France for reimbursement, you will reach The Champs-Elysées as a unique sweet spot in Europe: your dedicated price of reimbursement is official and secured. This tariff is used to deal with all the public hospitals and private clinics without additional local bargaining and without limitation of volume per site (while respecting smartly CE mark and IFU, of course!).
