Do you provide synthetic DNA or RNA to US federally funded researchers? Do you manufacture synthesis equipment for use in US federally funded research labs? The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security can help you understand the 6 key actions you must take starting October 26, 2024 in order to serve US-funded customers. IBBIS welcomes efforts to encourage and standardize biosecurity for synthetic nucleic acids. Our Common Mechanism, a free and open-source tool for sequence screening, is one of several tools available to support for screening orders: https://lnkd.in/dtTnG5Qg. Please reach out if you would like assistance getting started with synthesis screening, whether that's using the Common Mechanism or another tool that might be a better fit for your needs.
🧬 Announcing the launch of the Gene Synthesis Screening Information Hub! 🎉 Our new platform offers key tools and information to help customers, providers, and manufacturers comply with upcoming nucleic acid synthesis screening policies in the United States. Starting October 26, 2024, the US Framework for Nucleic Acid Synthesis Screening will require that federally funded synthetic nucleic acids and related equipment be sourced from providers and manufacturers who adhere to the framework. The framework was established under §4(b) of the Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence. Key features of the Hub: 📌 Information and tools for providers and manufacturers on screening orders and verifying customers. 📌 Information for customers who need to comply when ordering synthetic nucleic acids. 📌 FAQ section with answers to common questions. 📌 Additional resources for further information. ➡ Explore the Hub: https://lnkd.in/gCZmX5Dj ➡ Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gBGU7psQ
