Register with the link below to express interest. https://lnkd.in/e2zm_33u Highlights from Hera Butt’s personal story to greatness from the previous workshop: Hera Butt's journey from migrant woman facing countless hurdles to becoming a successful lawyer and city councilor in Den Haag is nothing short of inspiring. Despite the obstacles she encountered, Hera refused to let doubt, helplessness, or discouragement derail her dreams. Today, as she reflects on her journey, Hera encourages others to embrace their dreams with laser focus and unwavering determination. She understands the importance of concentrating on one's vision, even when others may not believe in it. For those facing their own obstacles, Hera emphasizes the need to seek out a supportive community. Whether it's through mentorship, networking, or simply hearing others' success stories, connecting with like-minded individuals can provide the encouragement and guidance needed to navigate challenging pathways. As she asks herself and others about their dreams today, Hera acknowledges the obstacles that may stand in the way. But she also reminds herself and others that progress is possible through taking proactive steps and seeking out support. For Hera, the key to overcoming obstacles lies in perseverance and resilience. By continuing to move forward, even in the face of adversity, she believes that anyone can achieve their dreams. And she encourages others to do the same – to keep pushing, keep striving, and keep believing in the hope and light at the end of the tunnel. In her message of empowerment and determination, Hera reminds us all to be extraordinary in our pursuits and never relent until we achieve what we truly desire. So let's keep moving, keep dreaming, and keep striving for greatness – together, we can overcome any obstacle that stands in our way. #thrive #thrivelydiageneration #success

Championing Voices on International Women's Day: A Reflection on Social Care in Scotland 🌍💜 Today marks a poignant celebration of International Women's Day. It's a canvas where stories of courage and resilience paint the picture of progress. Yet, amidst the festivities, it's crucial to address a sector where women are both keystone and centrepiece: social care in Scotland. In the heart of our communities, women dominate the social care workforce, embodying compassion and commitment. They serve as the unwavering pillars supporting the vulnerable, often with little applause. Today, I tip my hat to these unsung heroines. Their dedication sometimes shadowed by strains -- long hours and emotional tolls cannot diminish their light. Scotland may be known for its rugged castles and stirring lochs, but the true strength of the nation is measured by the hearts of these women. Initiatives and policies are advancing, with a commendable push towards fairer work conditions and recognition. Yet, the journey is far from over. Equality in pay and professional growth in social care must escalate from conversation to concrete action. On this IWD, let's renew our commitment to these stalwart guardians of our social fabric. Involve yourself in local causes, advocate for them, or simply voice your gratitude. They deserve to be celebrated, today and every day. #InternationalWomensDay #SocialCareHeroes #Scotland

As we celebrate International Women’s Day today, we’re excited to launch this new report from Oxfam in the Pacific and our Fiji partners: Social Empowerment and Education Programme, Partners in Community Development Fiji and Women in Fisheries Network Fiji. The report finds that on average Fijian women perform more than 9 hours of unpaid care work every day while Fijian men in contrast perform an average of only 2-3 hours of unpaid care work a day. These statistics are not surprising – they are part of a global trend of women, girls and gender non-binary people who have had to engage in what is often back-breaking, time-consuming and resource-intensive care work without recognition or reward. We believe it’s time to change that. Read the full report at the link below: https://lnkd.in/gAT3T3da #HerMoneyMatters #internationalwomensday

16 years after Australia established the Closing the Gap framework, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples still face barriers to equal labor market participation. This issue is particularly acute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, who encounter some of the most challenging economic circumstances in Australia today. #Australia has done incredible work as a leading partner in advancing sustainable development goals and promoting inclusive financing globally. However, it’s time to also look inward and empower Australia’s solutions to Australia’s problems. There is still a lack of financial innovations (especially within the private sector) that can cater specifically to the unique needs of Indigenous-led businesses, particularly those that are women-focused, women-owned, or women-benefiting. I believe the #OrangeMovement can change that. I’ll be in Australia this October, and I’m excited to catalyze partnerships that will empower Orange as a vehicle to accelerate Closing the Gap in an inclusive way. Together, we will create a financial system that works for everyone, especially First Nations women. They are your best guardians of your forests, healthy oceans, land, and food security - they must be financially and systematically empowered as such. https://lnkd.in/gKf4Pdxq
