Cornwall Hospice Care are the new charity partner of the Truro office of Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountants - it was a privilege to volunteer in their St. Austell warehouse with colleagues Thomas Brock and Sadie Farmer today. The warehouse is a major logistics operation - its scale and the volume of donations that has to be processed is simply staggering - clothing, textiles, furniture, electricals, books, games, CDs, and general bric-a-brac all need to be sorted before they can be retailed in their shops or recycled. It highlighted to me just how much we consume and throw away as individuals, and also how much charities such as this need volunteers. We'll be doing a lot more volunteering and fundraising for this amazing charity - part of our 1% for Communities responsible business commitment, details of which can be found in our new Impact Report. https://lnkd.in/erWJNyWk
