Delighted that Teneo is a partner to the Leading European Tech Scaleup map with @France Digitale alongside the support of @Scale Ireland. 🚀 The second edition of the Leading European Tech Scaleups (LETS) features +250 companies (up from 135 last year) that have successfully expanded out of their home markets and highlights some of the continent's most promising European scale-ups. Four incredible Irish companies are included: Fenergo, Tines, Teamwork and Wayflyer. The world is undergoing accelerated shifts, driven by AI and the urgent need for a green transition. Thank you Marc Piano and Ryón Nixon for an insightful discussion of the exciting developments in the world of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and foundation companies in the Cayman Islands. Among the key advantages and risks discussed, the importance of separation within DAO structures was emphasized, with founders relinquishing control over protocols to achieve true decentralization and the necessity of establishing independent directorship and ensuring proper oversight structures as essential for maintaining the arm's length relationship between the foundation, labs and service providers for successful communication, decision making and compliant governance. From raising capital to ensuring sustainable governance and administration, the journey of setting up a DAO or foundation company requires a meticulous approach to address risks and considerations comprehensively including areas such as securities law, offshore structuring, international employees and development, intellectual property and proper corporate governance. With a focus on governance improvements, risk-based KYC practices, and effective management, the path toward decentralization involves a gradual handover of control while maintaining a robust framework for sustainable growth. It was encouraging to hear the positive experiences of US counsel in offshore structuring with responsive and knowledgeable service providers in the Cayman Islands and insights into how the jurisdiction has grown and matured in this space. The evolving landscape in jurisdictions like the Cayman Islands presents both opportunities and challenges for innovative projects and blockchain protocols, emphasizing the need for proactive and strategic decision-making in this dynamic field. #DAOs #Foundations #EnterpriseCayman #FractionalGC
