Ban Ki-moon making the case for the adaptation agenda - I hope to see more of this throughout COP and afterwards. Climate adaptation (or rather the lack of it) is an increasingly pressing climate justice issue, allowing quantities of unnecessary suffering we should all be moved by. "Cop29 offers an opportunity for a new era of climate leadership – one that prioritises those on the frontlines. I encourage leaders to bring bold pledges to the table that reflect the scale of the challenge. Over 100 countries are driving their national adaptation plan (NAP) processes forward with the support from the Green Climate Fund Readiness Programme. Momentum on adaptation is real!
