Outstanding initiative and such a creative way to get more businesses to consider hiring refugees, Tent Partnership for Refugees. Business can be a force for good and this is a prime example. Keep up this important equity work. #businessforgood #jobsforrefugees #employment #businesscollaborative #socialimpact #causesandiego #causeconference
Today is such a proud day - the Tent Partnership for Refugees has been selected to TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024! I founded Tent in 2016 to urge business leaders to hire refugees, because it’s win-win for businesses and for refugees. You might think Chobani just makes great yogurt and alternative milk products but they are so much more. They are using the power of business by deploying their employees and activating their corporate partners to improve job equity for refugees, support communities impacted by natural disasters and challenge more businesses to do the same. They use their brand as a megaphone to elevate underserved voices. and they activate their staff to uplift and strengthen communities in need. Chobani is one of the finest examples of a true, purpose-driven organization. So many good best practices for other companies to emulate. Bravo, Chobani and your partners! #socialimpact #refugeejobs #upliftingcommunities #CSR #corporatesocialresponsibility

The power of peer advisory groups, Part II: understanding different levels of peer engagement. Understanding the different levels of peer engagement is the first step that CEOs and business owners can take to turn peer influence into genuine peer advantage. These include: 🔷 Level 1: connect with peers individually in person of online. These people may be acquaintances or people you’ve never met and with whom you exchange information or share a common interest on LinkedIn or at business gatherings 🔷 Level 2: network online or at events in a more selective, purposeful attempt to advance personal and professional interests 🔷 Level 3: Work as a member of a homogenous team to bring a high level of excellence to achieving a common goal. This would be akin to participating in a tiger team on special projects 🔷 Level 4: Collaborate with a group of fellow CEOs from diverse industries to help each other tackle tough business decisions, achieve lofty organisational goals and grow as leaders. Each type of peer interaction summarised above serves a purpose. However, as a CEO and business owner, you may want to consider where you want to put your focus when you have high-stakes decisions and limited time. If you would like an introductory conversation to understand why we believe that the fourth level is likely to prove most beneficial and most likely to accelerate your growth feel free to contact me at chris.mallin@vistagechair.co.uk https://lnkd.in/eAzE5mWt

R and R time - Reflect and red wine “Consensus” is the word of the week for me. I think it can be maligned often nowadays as a status attached to a situation or discussion. But it is critical point and often the actual status. It sprung to mind a lot at the Holyrood sources event last night when they looked back at 25 years of devolution in Scotland. Through the questioning of Andy Maciver , Calum Macdonald and Geoff Aberdein the original MSPs saw it is the key activity to making the Parliament work in the first 15 years but they and modern day MSPs all agreed it does not now exist and the Instution is being ineffective. Nowadays too often we seek our “tribe” to be on the side of even the shortest and smallest of issues. This is scaled up into the big issues. For me, social media is a prime vehicle for creating and maintaining this approach. Over time, in too many parts of life we have lost the ability to seek common ground before what divides us. Certainly politics in the UK is in a dreadful state in my view on this and it is one of our most regular and visual forms of leadership. I actually thinking many small and medium business are much better at due to the need for surviving and thriving in partnerships with seperate and mutual benefits happening. So to the 2nd R - red wine - looking for future recommendations here please on Malbec and Merlots, ideally with lots of black or red fruit in them!

"If the more-than-human world were in the room with us right now, what would they say is the work that you and I need to do together?" This is quickly becoming one of my favorite and most powerful questions to ask during coaching sessions. I invite my clients to look outside and connect with the land around them or close their eyes and imagine themselves in a place where they feel a special relationship with nature. In that moment of slowing down and attuning to Life, their voice of inner wisdom--organic intelligence--tends to emerge. Over the past 8 weeks, I've had the privilege of exploring climate and eco-conscious coaching with Cristina Custodio, MBA ICF-MCC (she/ella) ELENA ESPINAL, and our book circle companions through the Climate Coaching Alliance. It was an opportunity to slow down to be present to what is right in front of us and clear about what really matters. To exit the cocoon and face the world as it is, together. To stretch beyond fear, in all of its manifestations, and into the richness of compassion, imagination, connection, and shared work. I am leaving the experience feeling tender, clear, dedicated, resourced, and inspired to keep growing into what is mine to do now in response to the crises we are facing. A huge thanks to my learning companions and the many coaches and organizations who contributed to "Ecological and Climate Conscious Coaching." I look forward to celebrating the journey tomorrow with Eve Turner, Professor Peter HAWKINS, and the global network of coaches dedicated to the Great Turning. If you are interested in exploring coaching, team, or organizational work focused on climate and eco-conscious leadership, please reach out. I would love to connect and support your journey. #ClimateCoaching #EcoConsciousCoaching #TheGreatTurning
