I'm proud to inform that the Norwegian government launched a new National One Health Strategy against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) for 2024-2033 in September this year. https://lnkd.in/dE-JhVW6 AMR is recognized as one of the world's greatest health challenges, and the strategy aims to address this issue comprehensively over the next decade. The strategy emphasizes a One Health approach, integrating human, animal, plant, and environmental health sectors to combat AMR effectively. Key objectives include: - Improving antimicrobial prescribing practices. - Enhancing preventive measures to reduce infections in humans, animals, and plants. - Increasing public awareness and education about AMR, especially among children and youth. - Strengthening international cooperation to tackle AMR globally. The strategy also highlights the importance of research, innovation, and surveillance to develop effective interventions and maintain the efficacy of antimicrobial treatments for future generations. #AnimalHealth #OneHealth #VeterinærerKanEnHelse #AMR

In this blog, Dr. Maneesh highlights the vital role of environmental surveillance in AMR detection, emphasizing how wastewater analysis and diagnostics can act as early warning systems for resistant microbes. He discusses the urgent need for a unified effort among clinicians, pharmacists, and communities to limit antibiotic misuse, especially in outpatient settings.
