The Global Citizens’ Assembly for People and Planet is starting to take shape. Spearheaded by Iswe Foundation and COP30 hosts Government of Brazil, we are now laying down infrastructure so that in 2025 anyone, anywhere on 🌍, can participate. It’s an exciting time but we need your help - watch Iswe’s CEO Rich Wilson from Baku to learn more 🙌🏼.

It’s been another important moment for the Global Citizens’ Assembly for People and Planet this time at COP29. As we build towards having the new institution in place for COP30. The project is being spearheaded by COP30 hosts Government of Brazil huge thanks to Ana Toni, Alice de Moraes Amorim Vogas Carla Bezerra Gustavo Westmann Renato Simoes and so many others… In order to make COP30, the People’s COP, we’re laying down infrastructure so that anyone anywhere can participate. We are hoping that at least 100,000 grassroots citizens’ participate. To achieve this we need your help. 🎪 Encouraging people to run Community Assemblies (Starting March 2025) 🎪 Community assemblies will be run in schools, community groups, companies, sports clubs, religious groups, by anyone anywhere. We’ve developed a digital tool to support this. Right now we’re seeking partner organizations who can reach large numbers of people. If this might be you or you have a suggestion please contact Johnny Stormonth-Darling 🎏 Raising the profile of the Assembly 🎏 Through your networks, talks, blogs, newsletters to drive participation and influence of the assembly we need to raise the profile, through media, networks. Just getting the message out however we can. Again if you think you maybe able to help please let Paulina know. 🤝 Join the coalition 🤝 Whether you’re a member state, company, CSO, movement or media we want you in the coalition. See the further information here and sign-up here: https://lnkd.in/e282tdDr 🛠 Resources 🛠 We are very very grateful to our existing funders Climate Emergency Collaboration Group Global Challenges Foundation Wellcome Trust European Climate Foundation Porticus but the more we have the more people we can reach. COP30 is a unique opportunity to permanently rebalance the scales of COPs towards the people; and to do this we need more funding. If you might be able to help with this please contact Sara Cowan 🍓 Food Systems 🍓 The focus of the COP30 Assembly will be food systems so if anyone wants to support that with learning materials, networks or policy tracks to engage please contact David Levaï Thanks for all the fabulous events and meetings in Baku! I’m thinking especially of: Amber Nuttall, Alice de Moraes Amorim Vogas, Fleur Newman Kirsten Dunlop, Christopher Wayne, Anne-Sophie Clulow-Garrigou Jo Tyndall  Nicolas Eliades Vesga, Leonildes Nazar, Ana Yang, BONNY IBHAWOH, John Vlasto, Sophie Rigg, Hunter Lovins, Felix Dodds, khaled Eltaweel, PhD Dr. Martin Frick, Walter Link, Jim Skea, so many more I’ve missed…
