The one-time Emergency Assistance Fund for Afghan Prosecutors and Justice Personnel, intended for the winter season, has been pending since March 30, 2024. As a founding organization, we are actively working with our partners to raise funds for the ‘Prosecutors for Prosecutors’ campaign. Our goal is to advocate and provide support to Afghan prosecutors and justice personnel who have been left behind and are facing significant threats. If you believe that we should continue our emergency financial fund for Afghan prosecutors who are in dire need in Afghanistan and neighboring countries, including Pakistan, please donate us to support our cause. Your contribution can significantly impact the lives of those in need. #Afghanistan #prosecutorsforprosecutors #justice https://lnkd.in/dYg_NUvJ

- Your support this holiday season - After 1 year and 2 months, two investigation reports, the fourth consistent veto by the US administration against a ceasefire in Palestine, and the live streaming of horrors unfolding in Palestine, Lebanon, and now Syria—still not enough to melt the hearts or shift the minds of the world's most powerful governments—we approach another holiday season. A season that traditionally reminds us of warmth, generosity, and compassion. While I know that not a single day passes without us struggling to make sense of this dystopian world, I wanted to share details about two organizations I admire most. These organizations work tirelessly to ease the plight of families, especially children, affected by the ongoing genocide. As you think about giving to your loved ones or the community, please consider supporting them. - The Ghassan Abu Sitta Childfren's Fund: This fund is dedicated to the children of Gaza, providing critical medical attention to those who need it most and supporting the overwhelmed medical sectors in Gaza and Lebanon. Dr. Ghassan Abu Sitta FRCS(Plast), a British-Palestinian Associate Professor of Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon served in Gaza during the genocide and now treats survivors in Lebanon. His words about his experience in Gaza still send chills down my spine: "Do you know when you're in the sea and a wave comes and covers you, and for that split second, you're trying to get your head above water but can't because the wave is higher than you? It felt like that." Donate here: https://lnkd.in/ghrA2Rca - Middle East Children's Alliance: MECA works to protect the rights and improve the lives of children in Palestine and Syrian refugees through aid, education, and empowerment-focused initiatives. You can also support their work by shopping for Palestinian products - either for yourself or as gifts. You can also follow their Instagram account for more information. ❗[LONG POST WARNING] 👇 BUT IT'S IMPORTANT TO PLEASE READ! ❗ This is a subject that is very close to people within my family and while the views and reactions to domestic violence cases have improved, there is so much more that can be done. I feel that a lot of cases both current and historical are not taking seriously early enough, victims of dv are let down on a lot of cases due to lack of evidence or just ignorance, leading to victims relapsing back into these relationships (normally through bullying and coercion from the abuser) or they end up losing their lives to the abuser as a repercussion of speaking out. I think there needs to be drastic improvements to the reporting process and also the steps afterwards regarding protection of the victim's mental, emotional and physical state. A lot of victims have been brainwashed to thing its normal or its their fault, so aftercare sessions are needed to reverse any brainwashing that's been done and help the victim understand its not normal, they aren't at fault and what a real relationship should be like. There also needs to be more intense scrutiny of the accused to ensure we keep everybody safe because a predator isn't just a danger to the person they are abusing now, they are a danger to everyone and they don't always look like a stereotypical abuser, they blend in with their charm and likeable personalities. My advice to anyone who is with a new partner, don't just look for red flags, utilise the tools we do currently have, one being Clare's Law - https://lnkd.in/eZ3-WQ4u because while it may seem unnecessary or OTT to some, it just might be the difference between life and death...

A Run in Support of Peace and Non-Violence. Yet, I wonder how many runs will be enough? Just few weeks ago, we all came together for the Ahimsa Run organized by Jain International Trade Organisation . As the word suggests it was a day filled with hope, unity, and the shared goal of spreading peace and non-violence. As we reflect on that day, my heart is heavy with the ongoing violence in Palestine, especially in Rafah. Families are torn apart, homes are destroyed, and lives are lost. It's a reminder of why we must stand together for peace. The Ahimsa Run was not just a physical activity; it’s was symbol of our dedication to peace and non-violence. Each step we take in unity sends a powerful message against hatred and war. Here are some ways we can help make things better in the ongoing conflict: 1. Raise Awareness: We can share information about the situation in Palestine with our network, by using social media to spread the word and tag organizations like UNICEF and United Nations (know more? tag them below) 2. Donate: We can support organizations that are providing aid to those affected by the conflict. Maybe consider donating to charities like the International Red Cross, UNICEF, or local Palestinian support groups. Together, we can create a kind, peaceful, and make this world a better to live in! Know of more ways we can help? drop them in the comments below!
