Excited to kick off the activities of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme mission on Sustainable Tourism #NaTour4CChange project yesterday !🌿   The new project aims to enhance sustainability and fortify the resilience of coastal #Mediterranean #tourism destinations against #climatechange. This will be achieved by revamping local #governance in tourism through innovative ecosystem-based approaches, and by recognising nature as not just a tourist attraction but a vital solution for destinations' resilience.   🤝 The project brings together the expertise of 10 partners from 6 Mediterranean countries and collaborates with 18 associated organisations.   IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation is taking the lead on Pilot Destination Resilience with two key objectives:   ➡ Strengthening climate change-related resilience in tourism destinations through #NaturebasedSolutions ➡ Instigating a shift in the behaviour of residents and tourism operators through Destination Climate Action Plans and #NbS Institut za turizam, Plan Bleu, Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía, Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, Natura-Jadera, REGION OF CRETE, HSPN - Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water management of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Emmi Lindqvist
