As a Leadership Coach, I've seen firsthand how crucial it is for leaders to provide a clear conceptual framework for their team members to make informed decisions. Let me share a short story about one particular experience I had: I worked with a talented leader under immense pressure to excel and elevate their team's performance. However, despite his dedication, he found himself stuck. Through our sessions, we discovered two significant obstacles. 🚫First, we identified internal limiting beliefs and barriers holding him back. We addressed these personal challenges to unlock his full potential. 🚫Second, perhaps more critically, we noticed that his Boss was sending mixed messages. His Boss frequently used the word "empower" to encourage him to take charge. But, on the other hand, his Boss's actions demonstrated micromanagement and lack of trust, undermining the empowerment message. This inconsistency created confusion and frustration for my client.😕 So, what do we do in such situations? ☑️The answer is to educate and support leaders in being aware of their behaviors and the messages they send. ☑️It's about supporting them through processes that help awaken their self-awareness and align their actions with their words. We worked on building my client's self-awareness and self-confidence through dedicated coaching. ☑️We also addressed the importance of his clear, consistent communication with his team, which positively impacted their performance. ☑️Finally, and very importantly, my client successfully influenced upward, guiding his manager to adopt a more consistent approach. Thus, my client finally felt empowered and accountable for his decisions and results. This experience reaffirmed my belief that leadership isn't just about giving directions; it's about fostering an atmosphere where team members feel genuinely empowered to make decisions. This is just one example of why I enjoy 😍my work: I help leaders awaken their awareness and align their actions with their words so they can create environments where they thrive.🔝👍🏽 #leadership #empowerment #authenticity #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #teamengagement #personalgrowth

I started a strategic coaching process with a manager, and it was quite interesting to see how his immediate reaction was to avoid recognizing himself as a #leader: ❗️If others recognize me, that’s fine, but doing it myself seems arrogant. ❗️I am not someone who always seeks to stand out. ❗️I will never seek to prioritize my own interests, etc., etc. Everything revolved around a somewhat negative connotation > 😬 how far he was from the true concept of what being a leader really means. Throughout my professional experience, I have identified two key words that embody the true concept of leadership: IMMERSE and EMERGE. ⚠️ They might seem contradictory, but they are not. Let me explain how they complement each other: Some people feel a certain degree of apprehension about acknowledging their role as a leader because, in some way, it makes them feel distanced from their teams: “me here, you there.” This is where the concept of emerging is wrongly associated, with the leader seen as someone who seeks to stand out above others: ❌ Not at all ❌ When talking about effective #leadership, the starting point is immersing oneself in the team — diving into the work dynamics and understanding individual and collective #strengths — to guide, support, and boost each member’s growth. By immersing oneself, not only does one connect with people, but #strategies are also created to bring out the best in them. When a leader immerses with the purpose of understanding and empowering, what emerges is not their own image but collective success. It is a process that optimizes resources, promotes autonomy, and, most importantly, achieves objectives collaboratively. ✨In other words, a true leader who immerses makes the team emerge. This is the part of my job I love most: helping leaders grow by diving wholeheartedly into their teams and empowering them to emerge and shine sustainably over time. So tell me, what key words best capture your leadership style? Adriana Romero Promoting Healthy Productivity

Critical Insight: 99% of Coaches Overlook the Power of Delegation! 🚀✨ It's a widespread misstep that binds us in a shared narrative of growth and leadership development🌱. This recurring theme among coaches gently underscores a preference for maintaining oversight, reflecting a natural desire for autonomy and expertise in their professional paths. Reflect on the times coaches have shouldered every task, from planning to execution. It's tempting to view this as dedication. They attribute success to this hands-on approach. However, in moments of burnout or paused advancement, there's a tendency to not fully recognize how self-reliance might limit access to potential team support. While this approach may initially seem practical, it might inadvertently overlook a valuable perspective that deserves greater appreciation. As we forge ahead as mentors, leaders, or pioneers in any field, it's pivotal to ponder: Are we unknowingly hampering our growth? Or are we open to the transformative power of collaboration? Realising the importance of delegation serves as a critical juncture, not an obstacle. To foster a culture of trust and shared responsibility, consider these key reflections: 🌿 View delegation as an opportunity to empower. 🌿 Embrace the diverse strengths of your team. It propels us forward. 🌿 Cherish the collective achievement in every success. 🌿 Reflect on our leadership style and its impact on team dynamics. The oversight of not delegating is a prevalent error. Yet, it presents an invaluable chance to enhance our leadership and team synergy. Facing this reality with openness paves the way for a more connected, efficient, and resilient coaching environment. #LeadershipLessons #Teamwork #Delegation #CoachingExcellence #Empowerment #TeamSmartual #VirtualAssistant #KirtiKumarPatil

Top 10 Leadership Insights from "Dare to Lead" As a leader who's always seeking to improve, I recently re-read Brene Brown's 2018 best seller "Dare to Lead." While I encourage every leader to read the full book, I'd like to share my personal takeaways and how they've influenced my leadership approach: 1. Vulnerability is Strength Contrary to popular belief, embracing vulnerability can be a powerful leadership tool. It fosters trust and authentic connections within teams. 2. Courage is Learnable Leadership courage isn't innate - it's a skill we can develop through practice, determination and mindfulness. 3. Values are the Foundation Clearly defined and lived values are crucial for effective leadership. They guide decision-making and shape organisational culture. 4. Shame and Empathy Understanding the role of shame in workplace dynamics and cultivating empathy can transform team interactions and productivity. 5. Curiosity over Certainty Approaching challenges with curiosity rather than assumed certainty leads to more innovative solutions and a culture of continuous learning. 6. Clear is Kind Being clear in our communication, even when it's difficult, is ultimately kinder than being vague to avoid discomfort. 7. Rumbling with Vulnerability Leaning into difficult conversations and situations, while acknowledging our vulnerability, leads to better outcomes and stronger relationships. 8. Emotional Literacy Matters Developing our ability to recognise and articulate emotions - in ourselves and others - is key to effective leadership. 9. Trust is Built in Small Moments Trust isn't established through grand gestures, but through consistent, small acts of reliability and integrity. 10. Resilience Through Rising Strong Learning from failures and setbacks, and teaching our teams to do the same, builds organisational resilience. These insights have profoundly impacted how I lead. I've found that embracing vulnerability and fostering a culture of courage has led to more innovation, stronger team bonds, and ultimately better results. I encourage fellow leaders to reflect on these concepts and consider how they might apply in your own leadership journey. Remember, true leadership isn't about having all the answers, but about creating an environment where people feel empowered to bring their whole selves to work. #daretolead #leadership #schoolleadership #teambuilding

How Self-Awareness Transforms Your Leadership Style One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned as a leader is the importance of self-awareness. It’s not just about knowing your strengths—it’s also about recognising your weaknesses and addressing them. Early on, I tried to be good at everything, which led to frustration. Now, I focus on my strengths, like strategic thinking, and delegate areas where I’m less proficient to experts. This approach not only frees up my time but also allows me to learn from my team. Here are 6 actionable steps to enhance self-awareness: ✳ Seek Honest Feedback from peers and team members - Ask your team and peers for feedback on your strengths and areas for improvement. ✳ Self-Reflect Regularly on decisions and actions - Regularly set aside time to reflect on your decisions, behaviour and leadership style. ✳ Use Personality Assessments to understand your tendencies - Tools like Myers-Briggs or StrengthsFinder can give you insights into your natural tendencies and help you better understand how you approach leadership. ✳ Observe Emotional Reactions in challenging situations - Pay attention to how you react in challenging situations. Are there triggers that cause stress or lead to impulsive decisions? Emotional awareness is a big part of self-awareness. ✳ Practice Mindfulness to stay present and aware - Being present in the moment helps you tune into your thoughts, actions, and behaviours. ✳ Delegate and Learn from those who excel where you don’t - As I’ve learned, delegating to others isn’t just about getting tasks off your plate—it’s about recognising areas where others can do better and being open to learning from them. Self-awareness is a powerful tool for becoming a more effective leader. How do you cultivate it? #leadership #selfawareness #growthmindset #delegation #leadershipdevelopment #feedback

Leaders, hear from our Team Coach Bernadette Rothwell on how to... 🚀 Take some of the pressure off yourself! 🚀 Practice active listening and encourage your team to do the same! 🚀 Gain fresh insights from those around you! Effective leadership means creating space for everyone to contribute, not just the loudest or most senior voices. Here’s a simple exercise you can try that breaks common habits of interrupting and rushing through conversations: ❶ Present a challenge or question to your team in 5-10 minutes. ❷ Ask each team member to share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas giving them two to three minutes each. Time it. No interruptions from you or others. Allow each person to think and speak fully. ❸ As the leader, ask any clarifying questions to individuals—don’t let it turn into a group discussion. ❹ Reflect on your observations, insights, and actions from what you’ve heard to the whole room. 💫This process encourages patience and mindful listening, breaking the habit of jumping in and interrupting at the expense of letting others fully share their ideas. It allows others the space to fully think and contribute, which often leads to richer, more thoughtful insights. Enjoy the process! We would love to hear about any insights you gain from this activity! #TeamCoaching #Leadership #TeamBuilding #ActiveListening #LeadershipDevelopment #Coaching #InclusiveLeadership #TeamCulture #CommunicationSkills #MindfulLeadership #Empowerment #TeamSuccess #LeadershipTips ✨🎯 At Mélange Coaching, we work with leaders and teams so that they can be their very best https://lnkd.in/eQdVUt4N ✨🎯 We aspire to transform leadership and team potential in UK industry, to unleash organisational and societal betterment: better productivity, better outcomes and greater care and joy into the art of leading. Some people might argue that there is no place for ego in leadership. Some suggest that ego only leads to selfishness, rigidity, or power struggles. They might advocate instead for servant leadership, where humility and a focus on others are the driving forces, or suggest that any form of ego is ultimately counterproductive. I myself am a believer in putting ego aside when necessary but there’s a counterpoint here... A complete lack of ego isn’t realistic or beneficial. Leaders need a healthy sense of self-worth to make confident decisions, take on challenges, and inspire others. Ego, when managed well, is part of what gives us confidence, ambition, and resilience. It’s that inner voice that says, “I can do this,” and "We can do this" which can be extremely motivating and can push us to grow. If we had no ego we would suffer with: 🔶 Low Self-Confidence 🔶 Boundary Setting 🔶 Self Motivation 🔶 Loss of Individuality 🔶 Poor Leadership But when ego is too high, we: 🔶 Don't know our limits 🔶 Appear over-confident 🔶 Can be defensive 🔶 Make uninformed decisions 🔶 Demonstrate poor leadership Either way, the outcome is not great. So, of course, balance is the key. Life doesn’t give us all the experiences or support we needed to develop a balanced, resilient ego, and many people struggle with this. I know that it's not easy for people to address these personal issues alone. I also see the opportunities that companies have to help people with their personal development—a worthwhile investment, as personal growth directly enhances professional performance. This is why I encourage companies to invest in people and leadership development programmes. Programmes that include self-awareness and training in personal skills like emotional intelligence, communication, and conflict resolution. It's really important to understand that leadership development is not just about enhancing skills but also about nurturing balanced, resilient individuals. If this is what you envision for your organization, contact me to chat about my people and leadership coaching programs. I include EQ psychometric and role-based assessments, focused on both personal and professional development, designed to improve self-awareness, resilience, and leadership effectiveness across your organization. #ego #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching #executivecoaching

✨ Great leadership is all about balance ✨ I truly believe that self-awareness, self-management, and personal growth are the foundations for inspiring others and achieving real results. But leadership often involves juggling conflicting needs, balancing seemingly oppositional behaviours and doing it well and consistently, that’s where Paradox Leadership technology comes in. Through my coaching, I use this tool to help leaders explore and develop their own unique style and toolkit, so they can thrive in real-world challenges. What is Paradoxical Leadership Technology? The Harrison Paradoxical Leadership Assessment measures 12 key leadership paradoxes—those tricky, opposing needs that leaders face daily. It reveals areas of strength and highlights potential challenges when these traits fall out of balance. Let’s take a few real-life examples: ✅ You need to be direct and truthful with your feedback, but if you don’t balance it with tact and empathy, you risk coming across as harsh, which can demoralise your team. ✅ As a leader, you’re expected to be decisive and push forward, be certain of your opinions but if you don’t also encourage collaboration, you might miss valuable input and alienate your team. ✅ You might want to be optimistic about a project’s success, but if you don’t take time to consider what could go wrong, you’re not prepared for risks that could derail progress. ✅ Another common one: you need to hold your team accountable to get results, but without building trust and rapport, people might disengage or leave altogether. These paradoxes reveal how important it is to find the right balance. Leaders often view strong tendencies as strengths, but without balance, these can become leadership derailers. A few key paradoxes include: • Certainty in your opinions vs. staying open to others’ perspectives • Self-motivation vs. managing stress levels • Creative risk-taking vs. solid risk management • Making decisions vs. encouraging team collaboration • Enforcing accountability vs. maintaining strong relationships The assessment gives leaders a deep look at their personal leadership paradoxes, showing them how to strike a balance to become more effective. If you’re interested in uncovering your own leadership paradoxes and learning how to balance them, send me a message! Let’s explore how you can lead with more insight and impact. #LeadershipDevelopment #ParadoxicalLeadership #Coaching #HarrisonAssessments #LeadershipBalance #RealLeadership

The Path to Good Leadership - A Reflective Journey A few days ago, someone in their early twenties approached me with a question that made me pause and reflect. "How does one become a good leader?" they asked. I smiled, recognizing the journey I am still on, and responded, "Why do you ask me this question?" He replied, "I've observed that you are a good leader." His words were humbling, and I felt a deep sense of responsibility. I answered him honestly, "I am also learning. I strive to be the leader and mentor I didn't have at work. A leader is only as good as her team. Choose your people wisely, and you'll set up a good team." Curious, he inquired further, "But how do you choose the right people?" I explained, "Simply talk to them. Understand their thought process—not just about work, but about life, hobbies, choices, and dreams. People speak more vividly about topics they feel close to. Choose those who have the eagerness to explore and learn. It's about having good, simple people around. Work can be taught; goodness at work can't be." He pondered this and asked, "What if the team is already there?" "Then make them a team," I said. "Set rules to operate as a team. As a leader, remember your role: you come first when there's a concern or challenge, but you stay a step behind when your team wins. Let them take the front row in success." Our conversation lingered in my mind long after it ended. Leadership is a journey of continuous learning and growth. It's about empathy, understanding, and fostering an environment where each team member can thrive. What are your tips for good leadership? It will help me in my journey :) #Leadership #TeamBuilding #Mentorship #ContinuousLearning #Empathy #WorkCulture #ProfessionalGrowth

Have you ever realized that the lessons you learn as a leader can have a profound impact on your personal life too? For me, the skills I learned in my professional journey didn’t just shape my work—they transformed my relationship with my son as well. As a coach, I’ve always focused on empowering others by listening deeply, asking powerful questions, and helping them develop new perspectives rather than dictating. I used to reserve this approach for helping executives and teams, believing that my role as a coach was confined to the workplace. But one evening, I found myself applying these same principles at home. My son was frustrated with a situation at school -he is only 8 years old-, and instead of stepping in to solve the problem for him—as I normally would—I chose to listen, ask him open-ended questions, and let him explore his own solutions. The results were remarkable. He not only assessed the situation from a more objective place, but he also developed confidence in his own problem-solving abilities. It was a lightbulb moment for me: the leadership and coaching skills I practiced at work could be just as powerful in nurturing my son’s growth and independence. I cannot say I am the master of this at home, but I am progressing each day. Seeing this as the perfect surprise for my clients when dealing with their youngsters at home are also very fulfilling, too. I’ve come to realize that being a leader and coach isn’t about the title or the setting—it’s about how you choose to show up for those around you, whether they’re your team members or your loved ones. Reflection: How can you bring the principles of leadership and coaching into your personal relationships to create more positive and empowering interactions? 👉 If this resonates with you, share your experiences and follow for more insights on integrating leadership and coaching into all aspects of life. #Leadership #ExecutiveCoaching #LeadershipDevelopment #Leaders #Parenting #PersonalGrowth #WorkLifeBalance #DuyguAlptekinGursu
