“Cancer patients are trapped in the overlap of extreme medical and financial burden. They need continuous between visit care and support that our health systems all too often either ration or simply cannot afford." --- CEO Nabeel Kaukab. We're grateful for the opportunity to team up to provide better comprehensive care for these most vulnerable patients. We've long been impressed with the quality of care provided by the nurses of Sweeten Health and with Integra Connect's extensive experience in oncology care transformation across the largest oncology provider footprint in the United States. Together, we will help more oncology practices provide consistent, proactive care for their patients between visits while enabling a financially sustainable shift to value-based care. #OncologyNews #ChronicCareManagement #AVBCC24 https://hubs.ly/Q02Tp-730

READ: This article in AJMC - The American Journal of Managed Care discusses a new study on personalized, nurse-led care plans with a specialty pharmacy and how they can make it easier for patients to stay adherent to their therapy. Along with our study partners at Arine, we examined how a clinically developed risk-based care plan helps patients receive the support they need. The study showed that patients on a care plan were twice as likely to stay on their therapy as those who weren't on a care plan. Cancer patients and their caretakers have to deal with a lot when it comes to their treatment. By offering personalized care plans, we are helping to increase the duration of therapy as well as manage their symptoms. It was very exciting to read Michael Swinn's book, Hitting Your Head Against a Brick Wall. This riveting read delves into the challenges faced by #whistle_blowers in the #NHS, highlighting the critical need for systemic reform. It's a must-read for all hospital doctors and managers. Through his persistent efforts to voice his concerns, Michael Swinn has undoubtedly saved lives. If senior Trust executives learn from his experiences and implement his recommendations, the improvements in #patient_safety will be felt across the NHS. In today’s healthcare landscape, it’s crucial for patients to stay informed and seek second opinions before committing to life-changing treatments, especially for cancer. This proactive approach can make a significant difference in treatment outcomes. When considering focal #prostatecancer treatment options like HIFU, it’s essential to thoroughly research and understand the procedure as well as its limitations. Adhering to established guidelines by NICE and EAU ensures that patients receive the most effective and safest care possible.

Improving patient experience often improves patient outcomes. Here's a case example: Chen (2025) shows that changing clinic workflow to accommodate same day appointments for oncology patients improves care quality and outcomes. Workflow change is often complex and challenging; showing real-world impact is critical to ensure the change is justified and sustained. Here are potential benefits to same-day access to care: * Improving health outcomes (in cancer care, a 4-week delay in care has been shown to increase risk of death by 10%) * Improving patient adherence to care * Reduction in time burden of care for patients and caregivers * Reduction in anxiety and stress for patients * Improving patient-provider communication and trust Patient-centered care requires focus on the details that matter to patients. their caregivers and supports, and the experience of care. https://lnkd.in/gE9WxUpX #Patients #ImplementationScience

📢 The True Impact of Prior Authorization on Comprehensive Cancer Care When I came across a powerful image and an article from Medscape, it struck a familiar chord. It reminded me of countless conversations with #CancerCare providers about the limitations they face in their mission to fully support patients with comprehensive interventions, including #LifestyleMedicine. Despite their dedication, providers are often constrained by barriers that prevent them from delivering the full scope of care that cancer patients need and deserve. Prior authorization (PA), originally meant to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care, often creates more obstacles than solutions. - 🚫 Limitations to patient centric care. Providers committed to lifestyle interventions encounter constant limitations that restrict their ability to provide care in areas such as lifestyle or #exercise. - 📑 Administrative Overload: The PA process consumes valuable time and resources, taking providers away from their core mission of patient care. - 🤝 System-Wide Challenges: Even with advanced EMR systems, nurse navigators, and multidisciplinary teams, PA burdens persist across practices of all sizes. -🔄 A Systemic Issue: As a #LifestyleMedicine and #ExerciseOncology professional, I see this as a call for systemic change. We cannot place the full responsibility for recommending supportive interventions solely on our providers. #PriorAuthorization #CancerCare #HealthcareReform #PatientCenteredCare #AdministrativeBurden #LifestyleInterventions

Expanding ClinicalTrials.eu across Europe presents unique challenges, especially in balancing local market specifics with a pan-European vision. While Europe is diverse in languages, healthcare systems, and patient behavior, it’s crucial for us to treat the continent as a single, unified region from a business perspective. One key aspect of this challenge is SEO optimization. Markets like ensayosclinicos.es in Spain require tailored approaches for search visibility, but our goal remains to position ourselves consistently across all European markets. This requires a delicate balance between local customization and pan-European scalability - a truly unique challenge on a global scale. By creating a platform that is globally unified yet locally relevant, we are pioneering a new model for clinical trial recruitment in Europe. Through strategic localization and tailored content, we are not only ensuring our platform speaks the language of each market but also treating Europe as one interconnected ecosystem for clinical research.
🔔 It’s our pleasure to publish that our platform, EnsayosClinicos.es, has become the official clinical trials search tool on the VyDA Association website. VyDA is dedicated to supporting research on angiosarcoma and raising awareness about this rare condition. This is a significant step in providing patients with access to the latest therapies and information on ongoing clinical trials related to angiosarcoma. Together with VyDA, we are committed to improving access and raising awareness about treatment options for those affected by this rare disease. #ClinicalTrials #Angiosarcoma #Collaboration #Patients #InnovationInHealth ✅ https://lnkd.in/d5-849M3 ✅ https://lnkd.in/d-dVBr9s Łukasz Izbicki, PharmD, PhD | Łukasz Więch, MD, MBA | Juan Antonio Suárez Vázquez

At University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust patients with lung cancer were previously booked into a 12-weekly check-up scan, with a face-to-face follow-up appointment to receive the results. 🏥 Now, clinicians review the scans and only bring in patients with concerning results to discuss them. For patients with normal results, they text them with the news instead of making them travel. 💚 This simple change has helped patients avoid unnecessary trips and gives clinicians more time for those who need it most. ⭐ This is saving 3x hours per clinic, or 1,167 clinician hours, as well as 6,883 patient travel hours per year. 💫 #HealthcareInnovation #Accurx #PatientCare

In this Breaking Down Health Care conversation, John Hennessy, MBA, and Michael Kolodziej, MD, examine how to measure quality in health care and the current challenges with the existing methods. "As we think about quality, from a patient perspective, we hope that the medical care that's being delivered is of high quality, but things like wait times and out-of-pocket costs contribute to that quality equation for patients... Those are both elements that we have to be working on in health care to deliver what patients might expect to be calling high quality," said Hennessy.
