🎤 How do you think we can achieve a sustainable future for the maritime industry? During the #WaterborneDays2023, we asked this to Pieter Huyskens, Damen, and Linden Coppell, MSC Cruises. Beyond working on new technologies and developing alternative fuels, they both mentioned the importance of scaling up our efforts. Going from one pilot project to a full ecosystem and replicating at the needed scale what we are already doing is one of the key actions to take to create a downward trend in our emissions profile. Check out their ideas and share yours! #EUPartnership

In this race everyone must be together, the private sector has a important role fighting the climate change. It’s not only a social and environmental responsibility it’s a commitment with the future generations.
Earth Day marks an annual reminder of our responsibility to protect and preserve our planet. This year, our Vice President for Sustainability and ESG Linden Coppell spoke to BusinessGreen about the future of sustainability in cruising. While we are on track to deliver our commitments on carbon intensity, Linden reiterates that there is still much to do, as we continue to progress towards our net zero greenhouse gas goal for the MSC Cruises fleet. The cruise industry cannot reach net zero alone and as such, collaboration with suppliers, regulators and government is essential in tackling the complex challenges of our industry’s transition to a net zero future. Innovation and sustainability🚢⚓️ As a Third Engineer, I'm excited to share my thoughts on the evolving world of sustainability in cruise ships. 🚢 Did you know that modern cruise ships are transforming into floating examples of sustainability? From advanced waste management systems to energy-efficient propulsion, these sea giants are setting new standards. 🌊🌿 But it's not just about the technology. It's about the people behind it - dedicated professionals working tirelessly to ensure that our love for the oceans translates into actions that protect them. 💪💙 As we move forward, let's remember that every small innovation contributes to a broader change. A change towards cleaner and more sustainable seas that we are all a part of. 🌏 #SustainableSeas #MarineEngineering #CruiseShipInnovation #EcoFriendlyTravel #RenewableEnergy 🌍🛳️🔧

𝐍𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. In the maritime industry, one truth has consistently stood out: collaboration is the bedrock of successful green initiatives. The synergy created when shipyards, tech providers, and maritime consultants unite their diverse expertise leads to solutions that surpass what any single entity could achieve independently. We have witnessed this phenomenon firsthand across numerous projects. Time and again, the combined efforts of various stakeholders have sparked innovations and breakthroughs that seemed unattainable at the outset. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of collaborative problem-solving, especially when tackling the complex challenges of maritime sustainability. We curious about your collaborative experiences. Who are your go-to partners for driving innovation in this space? Let's start a conversation about how we might work together to push the boundaries of sustainable maritime practices. Together, we can chart a course towards a greener, more sustainable future for our seas. #SustainableShipping #GreenMaritimeSolutions #CollaborateForChange #EcoFriendlyShipping #MaritimeInnovation #GreenTechPartners #BlueEconomy #FutureOfShipping #CleanSeas #SustainableMaritime
