Amazing news: Recently, Amazon and Databricks signed a 5-year deal to offer affordable AI-building services using Amazon's Trainium chips. Databricks aims to reduce costs for customers, challenging Nvidia's dominance in AI chip technology. According to Naveen Rao of Databricks, AWS has generated more than $1 billion in revenue for Databricks and remains the company’s fastest-growing cloud partner. Rao of Databricks told the WSJ that the collaboration with Amazon allows Databricks to pass cost savings to customers by leveraging Amazon’s AI chips. Databricks, valued at $43 billion as of 2023, is already deeply involved in the AI market, having acquired AI startup MosaicML for $1.3 billion. I am looking forward to more things we can accomplish with #AI utilizing #Databricks, #Nvidia and #Amazon's collaborations. Anyone excited or doubting the future outcomes?

#AWS isn’t just competing - they’re creating an entire AI ecosystem: - Compute power with Project Rainier. - Chips with Trainium. - Models with Nova. - Alliances with Anthropic and Apple. And they’re doing it all while drastically undercutting competitors prices. This level of scale, strategy, and innovation is absolutely insane. AWS isn’t just entering the AI race - they’re coming for everyone. #ReInvent24 - Kelly Griffin Helder Klemp

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗞𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲’𝘀 (𝗚𝗞𝗘) 𝟲𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬-𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 I recently came across an update on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) that is worth noting: 𝗚𝗞𝗘 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝟲𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬-𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, setting a new benchmark for scalable infrastructure. Here’s why this matters: 𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗜/𝗠𝗟 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀: With 250,000+ accelerators in a single cluster, GKE enables AI model training at unprecedented scales (think trillions of parameters) while simultaneously supporting inference workloads—all within the same cluster. 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: - Spanner-Based Control Plane: Transition from etcd to a Spanner-based store ensures stateless operations and greater reliability. - Dynamic Resource Allocation: APIs like LeaderWorkerSet and JobSet allow efficient handling of massive workloads. - Faster Operations: Optimized control plane reduces latency for scaling and upgrades. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Google’s commitment to Kubernetes shines through with features like dynamic resource allocation and batch scheduling contributed back to the community. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Companies like Anthropic are leveraging this scale for faster AI innovation. For cutting-edge AI and ML projects, GKE’s infrastructure is proving transformative. For platform engineers and AI practitioners, these advancements represent a leap forward in handling next-gen workloads.
