Happy nuclear medicine week! This morning I am reviewing instrumentation slides on gamma cameras. This is a thyroid study image showing a star like effect. This is common with I-131 studies, because higher energy is still going to have more penetration even with mitigation of a high energy collimator. Do you know what this star like feedback is called? Answer: Septal penetration ⭐️ #nuclearmedicinestudent #nuclearmedicineweek

CANDU technology doesn’t just produce power—it also co-produces medical isotopes. In fact, it is the only nuclear power reactor technology that has this ability. These are marvels of science that save people’s lives by fighting cancer. This is why our role as the stewards of CANDU technology is about more than commercialization or even supporting the energy transition. It becomes about delivering social value to local health networks and to the world. In fact, with an Industrial practice that helps producers set up facilities around the world in the life sciences and advanced manufacturing space, AtkinsRéalis is one of the few firms with a beginning-to-end perspective on nuclear medicine. #EngineeringaBetterFuture #CANDUMONARK #CanadiansForCANDU
