He joined the board earlier this year at the Annual Meeting and has been enjoying every moment since. Q. What drew you to want positions on the WASDA board? A. Simply to try to give back a small piece to an industry that has been amazing to me and my family Q. What are you hoping to contribute as your time as a board member? A. To help new members navigate through the meetings and help create a great experience Q. Why do you think being part of WASDA is important for your industry? A. We [Consolidated Pipe & Valve] have only been a member for a couple of years. WASDA is a great opportunity to visit with manufacturers and competitors. The events allow me to check lots of boxes in a single event. Q. What is your favorite item in the house that uses water? A. The crushed ice machine in my bar…. That was the easiest answer! I love the new look that visualizes the power and dynamism of the industrial valve sector with powerful red, flowing blue and nuanced white - as a seamless fusion of the three aggregate states.

When our business first saw the daylight, we were 100% a ‘CFD service provider’. CFD is ‘Computational Fluid Dynamics’, which is a full 3D computer simulation of what happens inside infrastructure. Yes, it allows you to literally look through the walls of big facilities that are operating or still need to be built. As you can imagine, having this information allows you to drastically improve performance, save costs, accelerate design and proactively avoid issues down the road. Throughout the years, our team has helped designing, optimising and digitalising over 150 of those treatment plants. 😱 And we’ve helped numerous technology vendors drastically reducing (with 1, 2 or more years…) time to market of innovative technologies. This accelerates our societal impact as well. While the backend of it is rather sophisticated physics at play, the front is extremely practical and useful. It can take us a few weeks to simulate and improve complete facilities… And while CFD still belongs to our core business, it became much more than a design tool. It is now an integral part of our digital solutions offering. We convert those ‘digital assets’ into world’s most realistic digital twins, mimicking the plant behaviour in real time.
