An interesting study coming out of Thailand. Cannabidiol suppresses proliferation and induces cell death, autophagy and senescence in human cholangiocarcinoma cells via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway while this is a bit thicker in context. It is apparent after running various models the team was able to deduce the likelihood of cbd to kill off select cells and promote new cell development. https://lnkd.in/dfjMDzzu

#TechnologyTuesday 𝐓𝐑𝐒𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐭 – 𝐑𝐍𝐀-𝐦𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠 The lack of a universal agent against the entire family of #nidovirales, including SARS-CoV-2, poses a major #challenge in the development of effective #treatments for #viral #infections. 💡 The #TRSbait technology invented at Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung (HZI) offers a promising solution, utilizing an #RNA #oligonucleotide in high abundance as a bait for the highly conserved TRS-binding site of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (#RdRp). By saturating the RdRp-TRS-binding site, #TRSbait effectively prevents viral TRS from binding, leading to a #reduction or even #inhibition of viral transcription. 👨🔬 Inventors: Luka Cicin-Sain & Ulfert Rand 🔎 Learn more about this #new #technology on our website: https://lnkd.in/e28jivrQ #Antiviral #UniversalAgent #RNAtechnology #Virology #SARSCoV2

Aberrant non-canonical NF-κB signalling reprograms the epigenome landscape to drive oncogenic transcriptomes in multiple myeloma The downstream molecular mechanisms following the activation of the NF-κB pathway in multiple myeloma (MM) remain to be characterised. Here, it is shown that aberrant non-canonical NF-κB signalling causes epigenomic reprogramming leading to transcriptional changes that favour MM progression. https://lnkd.in/gUi3bYYP
