Two days. It’s taken only TWO days for a prospective client to say the magic words: ‘I want the contract as short as possible.’ Why? Is it the optics of a shorter contract? Is it the fact that their customer is likely to sign something which has no protections for the service provider? Is it because they haven’t learnt the painful lesson of getting shafted by an unfit contract? Probably a bit of all 3 (especially the shafting)! Trying to explain that it isn’t about the length of the contract, but what is suitable for the business and, most importantly, the relationship is my day to day mission.
