"SVF Cinemas plans to implement Dolby Atmos, IMAX and 4DX in premium properties, contingent on market evolution and content availability, to ensure cost recovery. This includes monitoring audience preferences, competitor moves and overall adoption rates. A serious flow of content from the major studios/production houses of India and Hollywood is a must to make this a reality. The production value and quality of regional content must also improve to ensure our ability to sustain such immersive (and expensive) technologies. Financial planning will guide investments, with targeted marketing campaigns to attract audiences. Initial implementation will begin with a few properties, gradually expanding based on market response and feedback." - Rudra Prosad Daw, Vice President, SVF Entertainment Full interview here: https://lnkd.in/g8TzpK4z #SVFCinemas #MediaTransformation #EntertainmentTech #AIinEntertainment #DigitalCinema #DolbyAtmos #LaserProjectors #3DExperience #CinemaInnovation #ContentDelivery #TechInCinema #CinematicExperience #ImmersiveTech #ARinMedia #VRinEntertainment #DataSecurity #RegionalCinemas #FilmDistribution #CinemaSound #MultiplexRevolution #DigitalTransformation #EnterpriseTelecom #TechInMedia

Does the Sphere make more money as a giant immersive cinema or as an out-of-this-world events venue? The answer is immersive cinema, so far, which may prove interesting for investors in other immersive LED venues, such as Cosm. In Sphere Entertainment Co’s fourth quarter ended 30 June, the Sphere made $74.5m from 208 performances of The Sphere Experience. The Sphere Experience refers to a two part show. The first part is time spent in the atrium with holographic displays and robots. The second is Darren Aronofsky’s film Postcards from Earth Event-related revenue was just 78% of The Sphere Experience figure at $58.4m. This money came from concerts by the likes of Phish and Dead and Company, the Hewlett-Packard Enterprise multi-day corporate takeover and the NFL Draft held at Sphere. But do those figures tell you something permanent about what works at the Sphere? Do they tell you that cheaper tickets for immersive film will over the longer run bring in more money than more expensive tickets to see high profile bands play live? Or do they just tell you something about an individual film by Darren Aronofsky and the particular musical artists we’ve seen to date? We’re about to find out. Last week, a new film opened at the Sphere, as the video with this post shows. It’s a film version of the groundbreaking U2 concert, which can be seen at a fraction of the price of the previous live performances. And this weekend, we will see a UFC fight event that has been billed as an even more astounding show than the U2 concerts the Sphere opened with. Over the last year since the Exosphere went live on 4 July 2023, we’ve been covering developments at the Sphere religiously at AV Magazine. This week we covered the opening of the U2 concert film here: bit.ly/3TmVBZs We most recently covered Noche UFC at the Sphere here: bit.ly/47jHqtS We can’t wait to see what comes next.
