In a recent find on the car lots, a piece of Renault's convertible finesse was rediscovered - The 2007 Renault Mégane Coupé Cabriolet. Once a symbol of chic French design, it's now an emblem of motoring history, rusting away gracefully in a scrapyard. • The Renault Mégane series, particularly the convertible versions, have always been revered for their sleek lines, elegant interiors and innovative technologies. • No matter the year, model or condition, each car has a story to tell and we are here to uncover this almost forgotten wonder from 2007. In many ways, a scrapyard is akin to a treasure trove for auto-archaeologists. Buried within it are gems such as this, representative of era-defining design thinking, manufacturing style, and an era's tastes. • The lasting allure of these beautiful vehicles is undeniable, and the Mégane Coupé Cabriolet embodies this charm flawlessly. • Ensuring its place in the annals of auto design history, this vehicle exudes character with elements like the all-glass panoramic roof - distinctly and elegantly Renault. Chance encounters like these lead us to reflections – is this the fate of all objects, no matter their initial prowess and relevance? Or could this be seen as a phoenix moment, hinting at potential revival possibilities? • As technology progresses exponentially, are we losing the very essence of what it means to enjoy a simple, yet brilliantly mastered ride? • These machines of yesteryears symbolize those times when the thrill of the road and manual driving pleasures dominated the consumer psyche. Here's a toast - to cars that leave a lasting mark. To vehicles that instill a profound sense of intrigue long after they roll off the assembly line. And to every gearhead, auto-archaeologist, and car lover out there, let's continue to cherish the past, celebrate the present, and anticipate the unfolding future of the automotive industry. -Renault Mégane Coupé Cabriolet images and articles by courtesy of Autoblog- -ArtireAutomotive -RenaultMegane -AutomotiveHistory -CherishThePast. - original source: https://lnkd.in/geuaxtDV

India-spec Mercedes E-Class LWB: First look https://ift.tt/rN7bDq5 The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the longest running brand in India, having been around for over three decades now. But sales really skyrocketed (by luxury car standards) with the introduction of the V213 long-wheelbase version, introduced in 2017, and from thereon, the E-Class became the best-selling model for the German car maker. Now, the all-new V214 E-Class, takes the same winning formula and promises to be more tech-laden and more comfortable than its predecessor. Here’s all that you should know about the all-new Mercedes E-Class that will likely be launched next month. New Mercedes E-Class LWB exteriors, dimensions The new E-Class is easily distinguishable from its predecessor thanks to its front styling that draws inspiration from modern Mercedes EQ models. Its large chrome grille sporting an oversized 3D logo surrounded by multiple smaller three-pointed stars sets the tone, and makes a statement that you’ve arrived. The gloss black panel surrounding the grille might not have a universal appeal and it is bound to stand out on a lighter body colour. The front styling that draws inspiration from modern Mercedes EQ models. The long bonnet continues to feature power domes, and like its side profile is quite similar to its predecessor. New are the S-Class-type flush type door handles, as well as the 18-inch wheels. Incidentally, the 225/55 R18 tyre profile is identical to the new BMW 5-series, however the design as well as the wheel-to-body ratio makes the Mercedes look far more proportionate than its competitor. At the rear it features new LED tail lamps with a tri-arrow pattern embedded within. Chrome has been generously used at the rear as well as on the sides (around the window line), which has been very tastefully executed, and nicely complements the display car’s Nautic Blue paint shade. The chrome elements complement the display car’s Nautic Blue paint shade. In terms of dimensions, it is 13mm taller and 14mm longer than the outgoing V213 version, and its wheelbase is 15mm longer too. New Mercedes E-Class LWB interiors, comfort The interior changes seem revolutionary due to its ‘Superscreen’ setup which includes a 14.4- inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen, in addition to the digital instrument cluster. These screens are outstanding in terms of usability, functionality as well as display, and the audio quality from its Burmester 4D surround sound system is simply outstanding. The interior changes seem revolutionary, thanks to its ‘Superscreen’ setup. The cabin’s touch and feel seems even better than the previous generation and it reeks of quality from every pore. Mercedes offers a choice of three interior colours - Cinnamon Brown, Macchiato Beige and Black. Irrespective of the choice, the dashboard is black, which is neatly contrasted with silver touches as well as horizontally-oriented air vents (which operate...

The new Gurkha 5-door's cabin will have a seven-seat configuration as standard. Read on for what other details have come to light. Gurkha 5-door to get multiple seating configuration options To get larger infotainment touchscreen and front centre armrest To also get shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob positioned next to the driver’s seat Force Gurkha 5 door interior highlights As we’ve reported earlier, the Gurkha 5-door has been spotted testing in five-seat, two row form; in six-seat, three-row form; and in seven-seat three-row form. A bench seat will be provided in the second row, and captain chairs with individual armrests for the third row of seats. Access to the third row will be from the rear door, which has the traditional spare wheel mounted on it. In addition, the Gurkha will be making its return – it was taken off the shelves for over a year with the coming of BS6 phase II norms – with a longer equipment list. Spy shots have shown a front centre armrest and a large infotainment touchscreen. One of the bigger changes is that there is now a shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob that is positioned next to the driver’s seat on the centre console. The previous Gurkha, which was available only in three-door form, had separate front and rear diff-lock levers and a manually operated transfer case. Whether this change will be seen on the upcoming Gurkha 3-door is still to be confirmed. Force Gurkha 5 door exterior, powertrain Force Motors has already sent out teasers of the updated Gurkha, showcasing that the 3-door and 5-door will look quite similar overall, but will have unique touches. Additionally, spy shots and teasers also showed new alloy wheel designs, shod in Ceat Czat H/T rubber; these tyres are currently only offered as 215/75 R15s. The Indian brand has yet to reveal the exact specifications of the updated Gurkha, though the Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine and the 5-speed manual transmission is expected to continue. Force Gurkha 5 door price, rivals When it arrives in the coming weeks, the Gurkha 5-door will only see competition from the Maruti Jimny (Rs 12.74 lakh-14.79 lakh); it is the only other five-door lifestyle SUV currently on sale in mass-market segments. However, the Mahindra Thar 5-door, which may come with the Thar Armada moniker, will arrive by the middle of this year to directly take on the Gurkha 5-door; prices for which are expected to start from Rs 16 lakh, ex-showroom. Txt LDS to 21002 BMW X3 M Performance Parts bring distinctive flair to new SAV: View the 6 images of this gallery on the original article If the tumescent front fascia on the fourth-generation BMW X3 didn't convey its inspiration clearly, enough, look at the new crossover in profile: It's a scaled-down XM, the SUV that still points to BMW's future. The new X3's interior? It's a concept car interior headed for Munich streets, as shown by the 2014 BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept unveiled at that year's Beijing Motor Show. The X3's cabin is the closest thing we have to that show car, recalling the concept's minimalism, boomerang motifs, gold accents and lack of buttons. Side note — and we ask this as big fans of the current 7 Series — why couldn't BMW put that concept into production? It had a monumentally gorgeous spiritual successor to the classic E38 right there in its hands ... Back to the program. The new X3 wraps two kinds of future in a compact crossover package. To that, M Performance Parts would like to offer owners something timeless: The ability to tack extra bits onto a design that doesn't look wholly at ease wearing them. The X3 already offers the factory options of an M Sport Package and an M Sport Package Pro, mind you. The collection of carbon fiber, CFRP and polyurethane exterior M Performance Parts is said to impart a "more elegant and sporty appearance." As a wiser writer once said on these pages, "You've got eyes. You can decide for yourself." A front splitter can be had for the first time ever on an X3, this one a three-piece unit in high-gloss black. Behind that there are carbon fiber mirror caps and a carbon and aluminum fuel filler cap. The antenna cover comes in carbon fiber reinforced plastic so as not to interfere with signals. The M Performance rear diffuser below is either made of the same material, or buyers can choose a second version in polyurethane that would match the polyurethane spoiler hanging off the end of the roof. The spoiler comes in black as standard, but can be painted to match the X3's factory color. If those aren't enough, one can complete the fashion show with M Performance side graphics, black model badging, carbon or aluminum door sills and, for the X3 M50 xDrive with the M Performance Package exclusively, CFRP tailpipe finishers with stainless steel inner rings. Interior fit ranges from M Performance floor mats to stainless steel pedal covers and an Alcantara and leather key fob cover. A quartet of 22-inch light alloy wheels come in Jet Black matte with polished elements, mounted on summer tires. M Performance tire bags with reinforced handles will make these easier to tote during the severe seasons. The other choice is a set of 20-inch wheels in plain Jet Black Matte on all-season tires. Pricing isn't out yet. But if these are for you, pricing probably… http://dlvr.it/TDV8WK www.CarsBuyText.com #cartalk #Cars #carsofinstagram

Tail lamps, often overlooked in discussions about automotive design, actually hold significant importance in both safety and style. They are like the eyes of a car, conveying essential messages to other drivers and pedestrians on the road. Safety First: Tail lamps primarily serve as safety features, especially during low visibility conditions such as night driving or adverse weather. Their illumination ensures that other motorists can see the rear of the vehicle clearly, reducing the risk of accidents. Communication Tool: Tail lamps communicate various messages to surrounding vehicles. When a driver applies the brakes, the brake lights intensify, signaling to following drivers to slow down. Similarly, turn signals indicate the driver's intention to change lanes or make a turn, enhancing communication and reducing confusion on the road. Brand Identity: Tail lamps contribute to a vehicle's brand identity and recognition. Many automakers incorporate distinctive tail lamp designs that become synonymous with their brand. For example, the round tail lamps of a classic Volkswagen Beetle or the sleek, angular lights of a modern BMW are instantly recognizable. Design Element: Beyond their functional role, tail lamps are integral design elements of a vehicle. Automotive designers carefully consider their shape, size, and placement to harmonize with the overall aesthetics of the car. Tail lamps can accentuate the vehicle's lines, add visual interest to the rear profile, and even evoke emotions through their design. Technological Advancements: With advancements in lighting technology, tail lamps are becoming more sophisticated. LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology, for instance, offers brighter illumination, quicker response times, and greater energy efficiency compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. Some luxury vehicles even feature dynamic tail lamps that display animated sequences when signaling or braking. #taillamp #car #automobile

Skoda Kushaq facelift to launch by August 2025 https://ift.tt/CNoGveW It’s been about three years since Skoda launched the Kushaq SUV in our market, which means it will soon be due for a mid-lifecycle makeover. Skoda has done well to keep the Kushaq up to date with new features and special editions, but it's set to get a thorough exterior makeover and new features with the facelift when it eventually arrives. We have already reported to you about some of new feature additions, and now we have fresh details about the exterior cosmetic updates as well. Kushaq facelift will get connected LED headlamps, tail lamps Equipment list will see addition of ADAS, 360-degree camera Will remain mechanically unchanged Skoda Kushaq facelift exterior updates As per our sources, the Kushaq facelift will adopt a connected lighting theme for both its headlamps and tail lamps, something that’s becoming an increasingly common design theme on cars across all segments. This will perhaps necessitate a major redesign of the headlamps that are expected to be connected at the grille, which too will grow larger in size. The connected tail lamps at the rear could resemble that of the new Kodiaq for that all-important family look. We are also told the Kushaq will benefit from a new Olive Green exterior paint shade. Other updates could include reworked front and rear bumpers, and a new set of alloy wheels. Skoda Kushaq facelift interior, features We do not have the exact details of the interior cosmetic updates yet, but new trim and upholstery elements along with new colours could definitely be part of the mix. What we do know for sure is that equipment list will benefit from the inclusion of an ADAS suite. The Kushaq is already well-equipped with features like a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats and six airbags, but it remains to be seen if crowd-favourite panoramic sunroof makes the cut with the facelift. Skoda Kushaq facelift powertrain options The Kushaq facelift will remain mechanically unchanged from the current model. It will continue with the 115hp, 178Nm 1.0-litre TSI and the 150hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre TSI engines. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard on both; the 1.0-litre TSI will continue with its 6-speed AT as will the 1.5-litre TSI with its 7-speed DCT. Also see: Skoda Slavia, Kushaq prices down by about Rs 1 lakh Skoda Kushaq new variants, price, features explained Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo 10,000km long term video via https://ift.tt/CNoGveW

Well, this stunning Audi A4 S Line Avant (estate) has as standard trim the powerful looking 19-inch alloy wheels, gaining sports suspension, improved LED exterior lights, dynamic indicators, and high beam assist. Also, the S Line body styling had the brushed aluminium inserts and pedals, microfibre upholstery with S logo and privacy glass. The A4 fares well for passenger space, both up front and in the rear. It’s easy to find a comfortable driving position due to the flexibility and movement of the front seats – meaning long journeys are a pleasure, trust me. The rear seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 formation. The load area is not completely flat, but you get 965 litres of luggage space which is as generous as any alternative. You get some foldable hooks as standard but will need to tick the Storage Pack option to get a 12V socket and netted storage. There is no false floor or other smart storage solution here, so it’s a worthwhile extra. All Audi A4s come standard with the pre-sense city safety package. It alerts the driver of any potential collisions up to 53mph and in extreme situations works in conjunction with the brake assist system to help avoid a collision. By the way, every new A4 comes with a three-year 60,000-mile warranty, extendable at an additional cost up to four years/75,000-miles or five years/90,000-miles and that’s so reassuring. If you are looking for an immediate delivery or have been let down by an alternative manufacturer because of supply constraints, why don’t you explore and have a friendlier and down to earth conversation with our dedicated Audi Business Development Team here at JCT600 Ltd, Billie Jo Hicks, David Wells or me Jim McKechnie. Alongside our manufacturer partners, we can currently offer some amazing contract hire opportunities albeit business or personal. Give us a call or just message us, you will be pleasantly surprised…..

The EQS Gets Even More Electric The Mercedes-Benz EQS, the brand's flagship electric sedan and rival to the BMW i7, has received a range boost and some styling tweaks. Let's delve into the details. Aesthetics with Options: While some may crave a refresh, the exterior changes are subtle. An optional package offers a new chrome grille, front bumper, and the return of the iconic Mercedes-Benz upright star hood ornament. This package adds a touch of classic elegance, but entry-level UK models retain the existing "AMG Line" design. Luxury Within: The interior gets a touch more luxurious with the addition of higher-quality rear seat upholstery and the inclusion of the top-of-the-line MBUX hyperscreen infotainment system as standard. Rear passengers will also appreciate the increased reclining angle of the seats, enhancing comfort on longer journeys. The Big Boost: Now, for the exciting part – the range increase. Thanks to a larger 118kWh battery replacing the previous 108kWh unit, the EQS boasts a significant jump in electric range. The dual-motor 450 4Matic can now travel a reported 497 miles on a single charge, while the single-motor 450+ offers a staggering 511 miles (these figures are specific to non-UK markets). More Than Just a Battery Swap: Mercedes-Benz didn't just swap batteries. They've implemented several tweaks to optimize range. A standard heat pump helps manage temperature, all-wheel-drive models can disconnect the front motor when not needed, and the energy recuperation during braking has been improved. Towing capacity has also doubled to 1,700kg (slightly lower than the EQS SUV). Pricing and Availability: The updated EQS will be available for order in Germany later this month. While the model's UK arrival hasn't been announced yet, Mercedes-Benz assures that base pricing will remain unchanged from the current model, which starts around £113,000. The EQS continues to hold its position as a premium electric sedan with excellent safety ratings, zero tailpipe emissions, and outstanding reviews. While running costs might be a concern for some, the updated EQS offers even more range and a touch more luxury for those seeking an exceptional electric driving experience.
