India's technology landscape is rapidly evolving, becoming one of the world's most dynamic ecosystems in terms of technological advancement and adoption. This rapid transformation is reflected in a multitude of sectors, from the bustling streets of Mumbai to the tech corridors of Bengaluru, where innovation is not just embraced but celebrated. In 2024, India stands out as a hub of innovation and opportunity, where tradition and modernity converge to create a vibrant ecosystem full of possibilities. The synergy between elevating and grounding forces is key to this change, with elevating forces fueled by interaction, information, and computing serving as catalysts for innovation, propelling industries towards uncharted territories. These forces herald the rise of transformative technologies such as spatial computing, which allows virtual worlds to blend with the real world, and Generative AI (GenAI), that gives organizations access to new insights and creative potential. Simultaneously, grounding forces, including the business of technology, core modernization, security, and trust, provide the necessary foundation for sustainable growth. Investments in modernizing core systems and bolstering cybersecurity infrastructure ensure seamless integration of new technologies while safeguarding against emerging threats. As technology evolves, DevOps undergoes a paradigm shift, prioritizing the empowerment of developers through developer experience (DevEx). This transition fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, driving efficiency and creativity in software development. Furthermore, the Indian technology industry's revenue is set to surpass US$254 billion in FY2024, with a 3.8 percent year-on-year growth, marking an addition of more than US$9 billion compared with the previous year. The rising prominence of Global Capability Centres (GCCs), highlighting India's increasing ability to meet international tech demands, is a key contributor to the country’s growth. With over 1,600 GCCs, the Indian GCC market is on track to exceed US$100 billion by 2030, likely to employ more than 4.5 million people across 2,500 GCCs nationwide by 2030. The last decade has seen India create the world’s largest digital public service ecosystem, scaling it for a billion people to usher in an era of digitization. This has had a domino effect – improving governance and quality of life, driving technology innovation, IT services, and product development, and accelerating the tech start-up culture in India. As more businesses use immersive experiences powered by 5G and spatial computing, coupled with government initiatives supporting digital innovation, India is poised for a transformative era.

For starters, it is heartening to observe the spark of intellectual leadership within the Indian tech sphere emanating from entrepreneurial visionaries which till now have been coming from the saffron leadership (probably signs of capitalism). Sadly, though the remainder of these startup founders & investors seem to have capitulated their integrity to the omnipotent behemoths of Big Tech. Second, let us appreciate, if not their endeavors, then at the very least the noble intentions of Bhavish Aggarwal and the Ola & Ola Electric team in articulating a visionary manifesto for India. This needs not just government support but significant awareness of era of tech colonialism we are in. Now, to the article and a few of the facts in it below. The thing that I loved the most is dual focus on tech & energy, both needed to transform India's future. #1 Despite our huge success in IT services, it represents just 1% of the $30 trillion global technology industry. #2 The analogy of raw materials export from India only for the final products to be imported is so true even today. #3 The biggest chip company in the US has a market cap more than India's GDP. Still we don't want to invest a few thousand crores in it? #4 The most number of chip developers in the world are Indians. But sadly, we don't have a single Indian-designed chip If we want a different future, we need to act today and we have to work hard in our present. Yes, it will be a painful experience in the near term extra working hours and worse pay but for your God's sake let's build that future for India not for your employer, not for your family, not even for yourself but for India who will be proud of us in 2047. https://lnkd.in/gDcR2_7f #JaiHind, #tech #energy #India2047

Decentralization of the Internet driven by (and driving) the Peoples network economy is a megatrend. Changes in technology drive changes to work which drive changes in society and the economy at large. While corporate America would like us to believe that #AI is the megatrend, the real story is the number of unique devices (computers) connected to the Internet. This is driving the trend toward smart everything - homes, vehicles, schools, farms, shops, factories, parks, roads and even smart humans. With this, every human becomes a economic unit - a one person company and further aggregations from there - family companies, neighbourhood companies, community companies and multiple other nested network formations. The peoples network economy is already a trend in many cities in the US and Europe. But, they haven't found a common technology base to counter the well entrenched corporate interests in their developed countries. It is in India that an entire country will go from "developing" to "developed" by adapting the existing economy to this growing technology trend - Distributed Digital. The Internet was created in the USA and corporate USA has a vicegrip on it since the late 1990s. If the Internet has to reclaim it's original democratic roots, it will do so in India. Once the technology base is created here, it will find immediate wide appeal all over the developed world. Leading to a global economy built on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi's vision of Swaraj. This is not a trend that venture capitalists with their roots in corporate USA will be able to fund. This will be funded by those who can give a loving middle finger to corporate USA and their representatives in India - the McBc VCs 😁. https://lnkd.in/guy6nTGF
