Official Development Practitioner I International Cooperation I OECD Public Policies I Sustainable Development Measurement I Multilateralism I Innovative ideas for global challenges

This week I had the privilege of representing Colombia, participating in the OECD Regional Development Policy Committee, where I shared some of the public policy measures carried out by the National Planning Department that incorporate a systemic climate resilience approach, such as: ✅The 2021 CONPES 4058 “Public policy to reduce disaster risk conditions and adapt to Climate Variability Phenomena” and 2022 CONPES 4048 for the Mojana region. ✅The territorial climate resilience strategy with a community approach incorporated in the National Development Plan 2022-2026, including projects, financing and capacity building, the development of impact and result indicators on the reduction of vulnerability and adaptive capacity in the face of climate shocks. ✅Colombia's long-term Climate Strategy 2050 which evaluated the occurrence of disasters accentuated by climate change such as floods, hurricanes, landslides, drought and forest fires, and analyzed combinations of adaptation and risk reduction measures. I would like to thank my colleagues from the DNP’s Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate (DADS), who provided valuable inputs to share with the other 37 OECD countries Colombia's measures and advances for a better adaptation to climate change.
