This study presents a novel approach to 3D printing PVA hydrogels (PVA-Hy) by overcoming the challenges posed by rapid crosslinking in highly basic environments. By utilizing a moderate alkaline condition assisted by an aqueous two-phase system (ATPS), the researchers achieved temporal shape retention of 3D-printed PVA structures. The delayed crosslinking of PVA facilitated layer-to-layer adhesion, allowing for successful printing. The feasibility was demonstrated through direct ink write (DIW) 3D printing experiments with various PVA inks and embedding media containing salts, alkali hydroxides, or a combination of both. This approach offers a unique concept of embedded 3D printing, enabling temporary stabilization of printed structures to facilitate the overall 3D fabrication process. 💡Additive Manufacturing (AM) is the application of #3Dprinting technologies to produce functional, end-use production parts within an industrial workflow. Laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), a 3D printing process that melts #metal powder using laser energy to build up parts, is the process most commonly applied to #valve components today. With this technology, it is possible to produce complex, optimized geometries that can take the place of assemblies. Here you are step by step video of mixing process for 3D printing recipes (thickness layer from 1 to 2,5 cm each but manageable till to 3-4 cm). This is the correct method to respect every stage of Geopolymerization obtaining a balanced, stable and repeatable reaction. Geopolymer systems aren’t AAMs or OPC like materials (that follow hydraulic and precipitation processes) so the mix design it’s very different.
