Sustainable goals, integral to global well-being, span economic, social, and environmental realms. They aim to eradicate poverty and hunger, ensuring all people have access to nutritious food. Quality education and gender equality empower individuals, fostering inclusive societies. Clean water and sanitation are vital for health, while affordable, clean energy mitigates climate impact. Economic growth should be inclusive, with decent work for all, driving innovation and resilient infrastructure. Reduced inequalities within and among countries promote fairness. Sustainable cities and communities enhance urban living, prioritizing green spaces and safe, affordable housing. Responsible consumption and production reduce waste, conserving resources. Climate action addresses urgent environmental threats, while life below water and on land demands protection and restoration of ecosystems. Peace, justice, and strong institutions ensure societal stability. Partnerships for the goals unify global efforts, fostering collaboration for a sustainable future.

🌍 Today is World Environment Day! 🌿 This day reminds us of our collective responsibility to protect and nurture our planet. As we confront the impacts of climate change, pollution, and resource depletion, sustainable practices are essential for the well-being of future generations. At Samuel Hall, we believe that global impact starts locally and women are leading the way! 🌱💪 This year, with UNDP, we conducted research to highlight the nexus between Gender, Climate Change, and Mobility. Our research finds that women are a leading force of adaptation strategies in environments stricken by climate-induced disasters. They prefer longer-term strategies, such as planting trees, over shorter-term measures, such as raising the level of the house or moving to another part of the city. 🔍 By prioritising gender-sensitive approaches to climate action, we can ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities. Community participation is crucial for inclusive policy development and strengthening adaptation strategies that address the diverse needs of all individuals. 📚 For more insights, watch our reel below; read our stories ➡ https://lnkd.in/dzSPiay5 ➡ https://lnkd.in/dUef_Jiw ➡ https://lnkd.in/dN7wz4Ur Stay tuned for our upcoming research with UNDP.

Young people can play a crucial role in tackling climate change by taking individual and collective actions. They contribute to raising awareness, engaging conversation on Social Media and within their network, and educating themselves, staying informed and updated, for example: these are the first steps they can take, and we've seen they're good at being heard. 🎯But what if they want to play an even more active role? Which are the options they have? They can reduce their carbon footprint in their daily lives, promote sustainable practices, renewable energy and a circular economy. 🎯But again, what do they need if they want to take a step further and become activists, join initiatives, and engage in local politics? Do they have all it's needed to do it? Do they know where to start? We think that EYESYOUTHCLIMATE project will provide young people with a solid base of 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 and 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 to be more impactful and to help climate change activism can progress even further. We back youth and we aim at giving them the best of our efforts so that they can stride and participate in tackling such a Grand Challenge.🌱 Would you like to have more information?
