I recently spoke with a candidate who landed a permanent job in an industry they had no prior experience in and a role they had never held before. Why? Because the company saw his potential. Instead of seeking perfection, they valued his intelligence, ambition, work ethic, and ability to learn quickly. He's been with the business 6 months now and is thriving! Why am I sharing this? This story is a stark contrast to his previous job-hunting experience. Despite reaching the final round of interviews six times, he was repeatedly rejected for not having enough SaaS experience, paid ads expertise, or people management skills. The lesson here is that candidates don't need to tick every box. They need the chance to develop, grow, learn, and prove themselves.
