To ensure a secure #food supply for its population in 2035 while implementing the federal "Climate Strategy for Agriculture and Food," #Switzerland will need to enhance productivity and sustainability in food production.  The domestic agricultural sector remains vital for future food security. New technologies and farming methods, such as precision farming and methane-reducing food additives for livestock, are crucial for boosting productivity and sustainability. A Seed is the key to abundance 1 kg of Sorghum food = 1kg Food 1 kg of Sorghum Seed = 100 kg Food (at least) Small in size, but immense in potential, a single kilogram of Sorghum seed can yield 100 kilograms of food, making seeds a vital link in the chain of food security and sustainable agriculture.

Covid has underscored the importance of self-reliance in food production. Relying solely on external sources may not suffice in future crises. While achieving 30% local production for food security remains challenging, it is crucial amidst the current realities. Balancing cost-effectiveness with local production presents difficulties due to operational expenses and limited economies of scale in farming. There is no simple solution, but innovative approaches are essential to support our farmers sustainably. While investing in overseas farms can enhance the food supply chain, it cannot replace local agriculture. One potential strategy involves governmental intervention to bridge price disparities, especially through sustained demand from major local entities like Supermarket Chains,Military Camps and Sats etc with Cold storage facilities to create buffer. Addressing the struggles of farmers is imperative to ensure a profitable and sustainable agricultural sector. Existing farm policies have proven ineffective, leading to losses for investors in shuttered farms. 🔴Calling Alert 🌱Exploring the Agricultural Sector has been such a rewarding experience. It’s a sector that’s often overlooked, yet it’s absolutely vital. So undervalued, but so essential to our lives, our health, and our most basic needs. It might seem surprising, but without a direct connection to it, we can easily lose sight of the fact that IT IS OUR FOOD! . 🥀Right now, agriculture is facing incredibly #challenging times, with labor shortages and soaring costs of essential phytosanitary products due to global political crises. On top of that, the sector must constantly deal with environmental disasters that are only becoming more frequent with #climatechange, not to mention public safety issues in some of the world’s largest agricultural regions. What a mess!!! . 🍃There’s a level of complexity in these endless agricultural processes that we often don’t fully appreciate. It’s made me reflect on everything that has to happen for you to enjoy your specialty coffee in a #handmade cup with heart-shaped #LatteArt, or to get that pricey avocado for your #foodie posts on social media, or to blend that mango or those blueberries into your #PostTraining #smoothie. Think about carefully slicing that kiwi, banana, or those strawberries you use as a #topping for your #porridge with your super-protein nut butter. . 📢We’re neglecting a key sector that demands much more attention.📢 That’s why we're reaching out to anyone who has or knows of new digital solutions that can address issues in agriculture.
