Sir Ganga Ram was an Indian civil engineer and architect. Owing to his extensive contributions to the urban development of Lahore, Pakistan, he is fondly remembered as "The Father of Modern Lahore." The first Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was established in 1921, at the end of World War I, in Lahore. Sir Ganga Ram donated the land for its construction. After the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, India established another "Sir Ganga Ram Hospital" in New Delhi. After several months of piloting JOGO, the hospital is conducting a workshop today to train all their OB/GYN physicians in its use. The hospital's OB/GYN Department was established by the late Dr. S. K. Bhandari, a world-renowned OB/GYN physician. Dr. Bhandari earned her medical degree in India and pursued postgraduate studies in the United States, where she became the first physician of Indian origin to work at the New British General Hospital in Connecticut. At the time, British India did not recognize American medical degrees, so she went to England to complete her postgraduate studies. While in England, she worked under John Hopkins, the author of Shaw's Operative Gynaecology, for two years. Dr. Bhandari is also famously known for delivering the grandchildren of Indira Gandhi: Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi. She brought cutting-edge treatments from the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins University to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, elevating its standards to global excellence. Today, JOGO has become a standard treatment at this prestigious hospital. This is truly a tremendous honor for JOGO!
