🌿"Hormone Retreat" -Hormones aren’t disruptions—they’re opportunities for growth." by Dr Pankaj Kumar It’s time we start viewing our hormonal journey as a powerful, transformative experience, rather than a struggle. ✨ From teenage years to menopause, each stage holds its own wisdom. Our bodies are constantly evolving, teaching us to adapt and thrive. 💪 🌙 Hormones are like the moon's phases—natural, rhythmic, and essential. They guide us through puberty, reproduction, and the transition to menopause. But how often do we actually listen to our bodies? Puberty: Did those emotional and physical changes define your self-image? 🤔 Reproductive years: Are you in sync with your menstrual cycle or working against it? 🌸 Pregnancy: Did your postpartum self-care help you reconnect with your body? 💞 Menopause: How are you preparing to embrace this next chapter with confidence? 🔥 💡 Hormone Retreat, led by Dr. Pankaj Kumar, is all about learning to embrace these stages—transforming challenges into empowerment. Here are 3 takeaways to remember: 1️⃣ Acceptance: Stop resisting, start listening. 2️⃣ Reframe: Turn negative thoughts into affirmations—"I honor my body’s natural rhythm." 3️⃣ Self-care: Nourishing your body helps balance your emotions. 🧘♀️ Mindfulness, visualization, and community are key. Together, we can make this journey one of self-love, not struggle. 💖 Who’s with me on this journey? Needing new impetus and creative outside-the-box thinking to shake up Gender Equity conversations in your organisation? Look no further. I'm bringing Adaptation: Enough Already back to #EdFringe with the fabulous Kathy Owen in the lead. A play for women who do too much and the men who love them, it will bring new perspectives to Gender Equity, particularly for working parents and HR / OD Directors who having been looking for compelling, non-threatening ways to hold a mirror to the seemingly unchanging status quo. Inspired by Dr Gabor Maté's NYTimes best-seller, "The Myth of Normal" it explores the disproportionately high incidence of auto-immune disease amongst women (we account for 70-80%) and the contribution socio-cultural expectations of women make to this epidemic. Entertaining and upbeat (yes really! complete with live music), the theatre format allows audiences to experience Tilda's journey - without defences - and be far more receptive to the messages being presented than in conventional DEI programs. Feedback from the London premiere of Adaptation was overwhelming (see earlier posts) and Gabor described it as: "Original and compelling in its quest to rethink social conventions." The plays (see next post for "Unbelievable") make for an excellent team outing and there is also scope for a Q & A afterwards with your team at the same venue (Quaker Meeting House, Victoria Terrace aka Venue 40). Tickets from: https://lnkd.in/etmvqHVW Tilda is a busy working Mum she's caught in the unsatisfying squeeze between huge responsibilities at the office and the invisible mental and emotional loads at home. Throw in menopause (Kate Usher - Female Talent Retention / Menopause), an ageing mother and unspoken social norms that she's unwittingly internalized and - there you have it - "enough already!" If you know anyone suffering from MS, lupus, arthritis, diabetes, psoriasis, IBD or Hashimoto's, this play is for you... Kathy Owen is playing the lead in Adaptation: Enough Already www.vegasnerve.live Vegas Nerve Theatre State of Mind: Master your Mindset

Could not agree with you more, Tamsen Fadal. Thank you for lending your voice to this cause. The data from SheSpeaks Inc. on the impact of perimenopause/menopause in the workplace is a call to action. Through our MPower Platform and programming, Salima and I are heeding that call. Please reach out to learn more! "Both perimenopausal and menopausal women worry about workplace discrimination. It’s a harsh reality that many women feel like they’re “aging out” of their careers due to the physical and emotional toll of these life stages. Companies need to step up and create environments where women feel supported rather than sidelined. The survey found that: - 40% of women somewhat or very much agree that perimenopause or menopause has had a negative impact on their work relationships. - 52% of women say that they are somewhat or very worried that perimenopause or menopause symptoms will negatively impact how they are perceived at work. - 44% of women say that it is at least somewhat true that they have socialized or networked less with work colleagues because of perimenopause or menopause. - 39% of women say that they are somewhat or very worried that people at work will notice or gossip about their symptoms. - 50% of women are at least somewhat concerned that they will be discriminated against because their symptoms are associated with increasing age. - 52% of women express at least some worry that people at work will think they are weak, sickly, or not up to the job anymore because of their perimenopause or menopause symptoms."

The survey I conducted with SheSpeaks revealed an important truth: 88% of women believe having a strong support network makes perimenopause and menopause more manageable, but only 13% actually have access to one. What does this mean for workplaces? It’s time to rethink how we support women navigating these life stages. Offering spaces for open conversation, creating menopause-friendly policies, and fostering supportive environments can make all the difference in helping women thrive both personally and professionally. Could your company lead the way in creating these support networks? Learn more from the full survey results here: https://lnkd.in/e-6PiQ-v

BEWARE : Removing 'Oestrogen Blockers' in the Workplace: It’s Time for Real Change There’s a metaphor we can use when discussing workplace inequality—let’s call it 'Oestrogen blockers.' Not in the hormonal sense, but in a way that describes how women's voices, ideas, and leadership are often stifled in business environments. Whether it's being spoken over in meetings, passed over for promotions, or having their ideas claimed by others, these "blockers" exist in various forms and affect women throughout their careers. But here's the thing: 'medication won’t fix this'. While menopause and hormonal changes are real, deeply personal experiences for many women, the blockers we face in business aren't something that can be treated with HRT. Real change requires a cultural shift—and male allies have a crucial role to play. We need more 'men' speaking up, amplifying women’s voices, and challenging outdated norms. When a woman is interrupted in a meeting, a male ally can pause the conversation and invite her to finish. When an idea is rebranded by someone else, male leaders can ensure women get proper credit for their contributions. This isn’t about giving women a handout—it’s about giving them the space to do what they already excel at. As someone who works in the menopause world, I see how these challenges are amplified when women reach midlife. Menopause is often seen as the point where women’s potential "drops off," when in reality, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Women have been, and continue to be, *incredible* contributors to their fields throughout every stage of life. But if we wait until menopause to support them, we've missed decades of their brilliance. Supporting women shouldn’t be something we think about when they're struggling with menopausal symptoms. It starts long before that—because when women are empowered at every stage of their careers, they rise to challenges, lead with vision, and drive innovation. The menopause years, if supported properly, are when women’s wisdom, experience, and leadership are at their peak. Imagine the collective success of organizations that embrace this! The time is now to remove these blockers. As leaders and entrepreneurs, it’s our responsibility to create work environments where women don’t have to fight to be heard but are invited to lead. More importantly, we need male allies to step up and be active participants in dismantling these barriers. The shift toward a truly inclusive workplace isn't just beneficial for women—it’s essential for the success of every organization. And for the women out there—no surprise to us, right? Given the opportunity, we’re unstoppable. We don’t need permission, we just need the space to shine. Let’s build that space—together as one team! #MEG
