New AI Short Film. 'Edith and Fred' . A fun excuse to play around with a new video 'restyle' feature from Runway ML Gen 3. It's far from perfect, but it is interesting and kind of fun and you can apply endless restyling effects... I just happened to go for 'knitted wool'. Consistency between 10-second generations isn't currently possible, but it kind of suited the narrative. I used 'Live Portrait' to animate the characters, acting out the roles of the characters and applying it to a 2D character image before changing to a knitted wool style with RunwayML. My new course on using Live Portrait is now live at https://lnkd.in/ePx_49D7

Morphids - A Retro Horror Trailer Made with Runway Gen3 Alpha Here’s how it was done. Images were generated inside Runway own text-to-image models. After creating the poses and scenes with text-to-image, I switched to variation mode and generated a bunch of similar creatures with the same seed lock. Then, I moved all the visuals one by one to the Gen 3 Turbo model and prompted for camera movement. The visuals, done in 2K HD, were compiled into the initial crafted story. Even though the visuals were in high resolution, I pursued a retro 80s horror news narrator style. For this, I worked on post-production to make it look and sound like it’s from the 80s. The narration was done using ElevenLabs text-to-voice feature, and I used a voice synthesizer to give it a retro news anchor vibe. I also created an ambient horror track on Suno, ran it through the same synthesizer for that retro touch, and mixed it with an actual horror ambient track I bought online. Combining AI with real-life editing techniques means spending more time on editing, mixing, and compiling to achieve the finished story. The frame creation with generative AI is just the beginning of the process. #generativeAi #runway #gen3alpha #film #trailer #horror

Here is my latest creative AI video for Runway Gen:48 contest , a short film titled "Kaikisen", accompanied by a poetic narration. In a world where the oceans have vanished, and deserts stretch endlessly, a young man with echoes of the sea in his veins walks alone, holding onto memories. "Kaikisen" explores themes of resilience, the unyielding power of hope, and the human spirit's connection to nature. Images_Midjourney Animation_Runway GEN3 #runway #Gen48 #AI #IA #GenAI #shortfilm

🎬 My First AI Short Film: Diving Into the Technical Side with CapCut 🎬 This past Sunday, I stepped out of my comfort zone and entered my first AI short film competition! Although horror isn’t the type of film I usually watch or create, I took this as a perfect opportunity to try something new and challenge myself. One key area I focused on was using CapCut to create an eerie, gloomy atmosphere for the film. Since the storyline alternates between the main character’s dialogue and her memories of the past, I needed a clear transition to distinguish these moments visually. Here’s how I did it: 🔹 Sepia Filter: I used the sepia filter to give the flashbacks a nostalgic, yet unsettling vibe. This filter in CapCut adds a warm, brownish tone to the footage, instantly signaling that the scene is set in the past. It helped reinforce the idea of memories without using heavy visual effects. 🔹 Transitions: I used two different transitions to create a distinct shift between the present and the memories: Black Fade: After the main character finished talking in the present, I used a black fade transition to signify the end of the moment, giving the scene a somber, fading-out effect before moving into her memories. Blur: When transitioning out of her memories and back to the present, I used a blur transition to capture the sense of disorientation as the past fades and the story shifts back to reality. These techniques helped build the gloomy atmosphere I wanted for the film and subtly yet effectively distinguish between past and present. It was a fun learning experience working with CapCut’s tools and exploring new ways to tell a story visually. ✨ If you’d like to watch the film, here’s the link: https://lnkd.in/ge94zMJp ✨ What about you? Have you used CapCut for any creative projects? I’d love to hear what techniques or tricks you’ve learned! I look forward to working on more AI films and discovering new creative approaches with each project! #AI #AIShortFilm #CapCut #VideoEditing #Filmmaking #HorrorFilm #Creativity #Storytelling #TechnicalSide #CapCutTips #CuriousRefuge #AIFilmmaking

First pass on a low-resolution video with overlapping characters and scene cuts, using #wonderstudio GenAI, it automatically animated, lighted, and composed my CG character into the Tin Man's dance. With some glitches, it did a pretty great job with their pattern mapping system. All I needed was the Tin Man's hat! #machinelearning #genai #creativeprocess

In anticipation of becoming the next Tarantino of AI filmmaking (waiting on Runway Gen3) i've looked up the camera angles to make some interesting shots. From all the classic shot angles, four worked consistently enought to be worth a mention. 1) "Straight on shot of a ... " (creates an intimate connection with the character, as talking to at the eye level). 2) "Low view shot" (makes the character look large and authoritative). 3) "Above shot" (makes the character took smaller and submissive). 4) "Top down shot" (makes for good contextual environment shots). I tested these in SD1.5/XL, DALL-E and Midjourney. They work nicely in the first two, and somewhat also in MidJourney. The more i use MidJourney the more i realize it's a style mixing tool, not so much an accurate image generator. Anyways, wanted to share these in anticipation of testing Runway Gen3. Have a great weekend. #creativity #artificialintelligence #generativeai #filmmaking
