Great minds and untapped talent abound. It's a reality that many employers prioritize credentials over what an individual can achieve. It's disheartening that technicians with unparalleled skills are overlooked. I remember the days when we had our rudimentary methods for troubleshooting. We would use tongues and saliva to test for continuity. We could modify VHF televisions to receive UHF signals, and even fashion UHF antennas from curtain rods, among other things. We've witnessed the transition from valve components to semiconductors, and now to surface-mount technology. Employers, I challenge you to consider the informal technician and observe the difference.

In the tech world, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing is crucial for ensuring that electronic devices work reliably and don't interfere with other equipment. Here’s a quick overview of why EMC testing is essential: What is EMC Testing? EMC testing evaluates how well devices operate without causing or suffering from electromagnetic interference (EMI). It ensures devices meet performance and compliance standards. Key Benefits: - Performance Assurance: Ensures devices work as expected in real-world conditions. - Regulatory Compliance: Meets industry standards and legal requirements. - Interference Prevention: Minimises disruptions between interconnected systems. Best Practices: - Design for EMC: Incorporate EMC considerations early. - Simulate Real Conditions: Test in environments that reflect actual use. - Iterate Based on Results: Use test data to refine designs. As technology evolves, EMC testing methods are becoming more sophisticated, integrating advanced techniques like machine learning for better accuracy. Understanding EMC testing can greatly impact the success of your technology.
