"It takes courage to learn because it takes courage to grow." - Teia Rogers A little throwback to Teia co-hosting The Learning Curve from ALNAP alongside Namukabo Werungah, Juliet Parker, and Sarah Abdelatif. The Learning Curve featured discussions on: 🌟 Exploring why local/national actors, with their wealth of knowledge and experience, are largely overlooked by the broader system. 🌟 Institutional ego and the competitive funding environment and how this inhibits the willingness of agencies to share learning collectively. 🌟 Organisational cultures that enable them to make use of the learning that already exists. 📹 To watch the full The Learning Curve event, see the link in the comments.

Teia Rogers' words resonate so much with what I deeply believe and implement in my daily life, which is, to always expand learnings for ourselves as individuals and therefore the community. As mentioned in the short video, learning is key for the collective improvement, especially working in humanitarian and cooperation field. To challenge our point of view and knowledge is the opportunity to develop better empathy, compasion, and broaden imagination and creativity for conflict prevention, resolution and transformation. To simply be part of the collective solution as each of us resources gatherer for the community. Learning is a powerful tool that needs to be cherished, nurtured everyday as our environment is fluctuant. Our abilities for change remain to our openness and willingness to grow. Learning is about listening, receiving and adjusting. The peacebuilding field is facing tremendous changes as it needs to be more inclusive, more flexible and more humble. Peacebuilding is possible if, as peacebuilders, we change our paradigm, our focus and embrace conflicting situations as opportunity to reach our goals from sincerity, resilience and humility. And learning is one of the ways. #learning #decoloniality #intersectionality #humility #openness #humanitarianaid #cooperation
