Growing up I learned the value of diligence, dedication, and perseverance. I believe one's actions and results should demonstrate their capabilities and worth, rather than relying solely on words. ◼️:What cultural values or traditions have positively influenced your career trajectory? 💭: A significant cultural value…is the philosophy taught to me by my father: "Let reason guide your understanding of the world, but let compassion guide your actions within it." This principle has been a guiding force in my career, from product management to consulting. Logical thinking allows me to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and develop effective strategies. Meanwhile, approaching the world with my heart helps me connect with others, understand their needs, and build strong, empathetic relationships. ◼️: What advice would you give to young Asian Americans aspiring to enter our industry? 💭: Your cultural heritage is a profound source of strength and insight. New Beginnings as CIO at HiQ Finland! You know how it goes… The company gets acquired, the transition phase wraps up, and you start to wonder: where do I fit in this new reality? Well, it turns out I’ve found my place. As of October 1st, I’ve stepped into the role of CIO at HiQ Finland, where I’ll be supporting HiQ Oy and HiQ Public Oy on their journey to success. What can you expect from me as a new CIO? I’m all about fostering openness, collaboration, and simplicity. My main focus will be: • Continuously seeking ways to enhance security while boosting productivity. ⭐ • Finding that “just right” balance—good enough without overcomplicating things. ⚖ In a nutshell, here’s what I’m passionate about: • Creating strategies, solving problems, brainstorming new ideas, and building a shared vision. 💡 • Making a positive impact company-wide and across different countries. ➕ • Promoting transparency in our work and data. 👀 • Staying hands-on with technology. ☁ • Most importantly, enjoying the journey with my talented colleagues. What I’m not a fan of: • Unnecessary work and the confusion of not understanding the ‘why.’ • Being seen purely as a cost unit. Yes, it’s easy when your value is directly reflected in invoices, but building, operating, and developing support functions is a different challenge. How do you justify the cost? What drives me: Working with competent people on meaningful projects for customers who challenge us (in all the right ways). This is a win-win-win! So looking forward to shave some extra weight off from the letter T in CTO and fully embrace my new role as CIO. The best money we spend as a business? That's easy.... Bringing our people together for the annual Team Retreat. A few weeks ago, we took the Triyit team to Budapest for a few days. Why? 2 reasons... Firstly, to celebrate: - A record year of growth - Our new technology platform going live - And... closing a 7-figure VC investment Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, to just spend some quality time together, get to know each other better, and get everyone fully aligned with the ambitious and very exciting year ahead. Budapest was the perfect backdrop for our annual Team Retreat. It's an amazing place, full of amazing people! We ate well, we drank well, and we laughed - a lot! We strategised, we ideated, and we created - even more! We all left feeling: → Energised by what we had accomplished over the past year → Aligned with the plan for the next phase of aggressive growth → Focused on our mission to connect consumers and brands like never before These moments together are priceless. They remind us of how lucky we are to be surrounded by such wonderful people. So it has been equally 4 years since I joined Procter & Gamble at Warsaw during the pandemic straight from the startup in Canada 🍁. You can imagine cultural and social shock, we have all been there… let me share you some key unexpected highlights. 1. I have never thought that I know everything, however, I didn’t know that I know “so little”. I was positively surprised how the company supports individuals via mentorship program and each of my mentors help me grow beyond technological aspects. 2. Change - I am observing an interesting change that is focused on IT and Engineering for a huge company that is very “resilient” to change. When I joined Central Europe Village had over 250 IT coded professionals - today Hub has over a 1000. We even had first orgazitiinal IT Engineering showcase which focused on promoting innovations presented by our engineers! It was great learning experience. 3. Surprise - I never expected to lead so many events as IT Engineer. From organizing meetups, events, to the biggest offsite that the CE have ever seen. Each being valuable addition towards growing as a leader and understanding the target audience. 4. Why I stayed so long? There are many factors, but the most important is - people. There are many meaningful connections that I have created around the world, but most importantly- I have best in class leaders and individuals to learn from! 5. Ideas - I am getting comfortable with sharing ideas and seeing how those ideas are growing being delivered by other people. This is very strange feeling as I always wanted to be the one touching/building what was once a seed in my brain. I still am unsure what to do next. With all the plans set up - I do not know what future holds and I am open for the new/upcoming challenges. It will be for sure funny! 🎉 Celebrating 1 Year at Nemeon! 🎉 Time truly flies when you're enjoying every moment! It's almost unbelievable that a whole year has passed since I embarked on this amazing journey with the remarkable team at Nemeon. I still remember the blend of excitement and anticipation I felt on my very first day, as I took that pivotal step into a new phase of my career. Moving from the familiar surroundings of element61 to Nemeon represented a substantial change—a shift that not only presented fresh challenges but also abundant opportunities for personal and professional development. Reflecting on the past year, several key points stand out: 🚀 Transitioning from an operational role: Initially heavily client-focused, my role gradually shifted towards a more strategic focus. This shift allowed me to invest more time in activities like team training, refining best practices, exploring new technologies, and supporting my colleagues—a transition that wasn't without its challenges, but one that ultimately enabled personal and team growth. 🤝 Managing my own team: Managing a team isn't just about overseeing tasks; it's about nurturing talent, fostering growth, and navigating the dynamics of a diverse group. It's been a journey of continuous learning and adaptation, and I'm grateful for the amazing individuals I've had the privilege to work with. To Louise Coffyn, Kristof Neven, Agata Kukhtiy, and Walter Teixeira—thank you for being invaluable members of the team. And to those interested in joining our dynamic team, I'm always on the lookout for talented individuals! 🌱 Embracing growth in a startup environment: Transitioning from a mature company to a startup posed its own set of challenges, particularly in terms of structure. However, being part of the management team has allowed me to contribute to shaping Nemeon's growth trajectory, introducing much-needed structure, and steering us towards becoming a more mature organization. Overall, it's been a whirlwind year filled with learning, growth, and invaluable experiences. While not every day was smooth sailing, each challenge has been an opportunity for personal and professional development. Looking ahead, I'm excited about what the future holds for Nemeon and the journey we'll embark on together. Throwback Thursday! In January some of our key team members visited our sister company in #Dublin, #Ireland. We checked in and spoke to the #team about their thoughts and highlights of the trip. 👉 What was your standout memory of Dublin? Praveen: It was my first time in Dublin, and I was really excited. The weather was much colder than what I'm used to in India, so it took me a bit to get used to it. But the clean streets, fresh air, cool weather, and the kindness of my colleagues made the trip really special for me. Sandhya: Visiting Ireland was fantastic! We learned a lot and had a great time meeting everyone. The office was impressive, and everyone was friendly and eager to help. Overall, it was an incredibly valuable experience, despite the weather hiccup, but we cherished every moment of our stay! We particularly😊 enjoyed the award function where we connected with all our group colleagues. The "Growing Further Awards" was a brilliant initiative from our Group companies. 👉 Do you believe the visit helped to build TechMash’s relationship with the other Greenman Group companies? Praveen: At first, I wasn't sure if we'd have enough time to discuss all of our projects with our colleagues. But I was pleasantly surprised! The discussions we had provided valuable insights and strategies that helped us understand the business requirements which will benefit us all moving forward. Overall, it was a rewarding experience that I believe will contribute to our success in the long run. Sandhya: Yes, We learned some new things and got some great ideas from talking with our colleagues from the various Group companies. We discussed different ways to improve our work and strategies we could use to be more successful. It was really helpful to hear their perspectives and experiences. I believe this visit has strengthened our relationship with our European colleagues.
