I am actively engaged on Facebook instagram and obviously LinkedIn. I want to make that clear. Many my age are like me. But activity levels do not indicate action levels. I am forced to see 10+ free Will offers every day on social media and they drive me mad because I am not an idiot without a Will. About 75% of prospects (not the population) my age have one in U.K. We are responsible intelligent people so do not patronise me. Legacies are driven by personal experience, loyalty, knowledge of impact and ease of action. Over 90% of donors I am meeting want something in their hands to give to their professional advisers. It might be made available by PDF a postcard or bookmark. The most important issue: older people (80+) MUST be our focus if we are to convince leaders of a great shorter term ROI. WHAT IS THEIR CALL TO ACTION? Can they attend an event? Possibly not. Will they act of Facebook? 3 Things I Have Learned from Setting Up an Online Fundraiser 🏃♂️💻 As I prepare for my third half-marathon this Saturday in Queenstown NZ 🇳🇿 to support La Liane (Senegalese NGO based in Saint Louis) and empower young women in Senegal, I want to share some insights I've gained while organizing my online fundraising campaign. ¡ 1️⃣ The Power of Community: Engaging with your network is crucial. I've seen firsthand how a simple share or word-of-mouth can amplify awareness and drive contributions. Don’t underestimate the impact of your connections! 2️⃣ Clear Communication is Key: Articulating your mission helps potential donors understand the cause. Sharing personal stories and the specific goals of the fundraiser makes it relatable and encourages people to get involved. 3️⃣ Set Realistic Goals: Establishing achievable milestones keeps motivation high. As we’ve reached 70% of our fundraising target, celebrating these small victories has been essential in maintaining momentum. Your support can make a difference!
