Two years of brutal full-scale war in Ukraine have left millions of people displaced within and outside the country. Austria is currently hosting about 83,000 Ukrainian refugees, including 25,000 children, under the EU's temporary protection scheme. Yet, as the situation prolongs, the need for sustainable, long-term solutions for the integration and inclusion of Ukrainian refugees in Austrian society becomes increasingly apparent. Turkey has invaded, again, Syria and Iraq. Again, they are shelling civilians. Again, they are actively ethnically cleansing and attempting to exterminate Kurds. But CBC just reproduces the Turkish official version. No Kurdish voices. No other sources. The Canadian government says nothing. No calls for proportional response, for ceasefire, for a two state solution. No weapons embargo. Not Canada and not any country. No ICJ investigation for war crimes. No South African denounces. No UN general Secretary daily tweets. No UN multiple agencies worried. No UN troops defending one of the sides when they should keep the peace. No humanitarians or human rights organizations crying for the crimes, suffering and injustice. People is dying. But no outrage. No demonstrations. No encampments in campus. No nothing. Silence. Deafening silence. So different from reactions about Gaza. I wonder why??????????

Ukrainian children, unfortunately, are also victims of Russia's brutal and insidious terror today. Many of them have been deported or forcibly transferred. At least 19,546 such cases have been recorded as of October 29, 2024. The actual number may be much higher. The reason is simple: Russia refuses to provide information on deported or forcibly transferred children. Additionally, it blocks humanitarian access for international missions to temporarily occupied territories and locations in Russia where these children are held. There must be no hesitations or delayed decisions when it comes to the lives of our children. Ukrainian children must be brought home. Russia and its criminals must be held accountable. Today, the future of our children depends on the courage and resolve of the entire world, and it has no right to let them down. During the Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of Ukraine's Peace Formula, held on October 30-31 in Montreal, Canada, numerous countries and international organizations will establish a roadmap with solutions to return prisoners of war and deported persons, including Ukrainian children. #BringKidsBack 🇺🇦

❗ ❗ The war has forced millions to flee their homes, seeking refuge within Ukraine and beyond. Of the 3.7 million IDPs, 82% have been displaced for 510 days on average according to IOM's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM). Israel government is a bully, it bullies USA government into giving it money, weapons and USA cowers to them. Israel called USA’s #bluff, and then USA have to stand up in front of the world to defend Israel, change policies to fit Israel, back out of their many #empty threats of punishing Israel for blocking humanitarian aid, give Israel excuses and free pass. Even when UN, every human rights group and aid organizations found Israel guilty of forced starvation and aid blockage… USA’s genocide Blinken and genocide Biden choose to continue feeding Israeli government with weapons, and keep AIPAC -their babysitter- happy Lies, genocide and war on children, that’s all USA government is good for these days.

Are we supposed to celebrate Genocide Joe for his fake and empty threats? Are we supposed to clap for genocide Joe for placing such a genocidal condition; weapons for food?? I think I allowed myself to believe for a little that a ceasefire in Gaza and across Palestinian occupied territories might happen during Ramadan. Purely for humanity’s sake. For the sake of mothers and fathers, children and grandparents, the disabled, the unborn. As we close out the month a week away from Eid, it’s become clearer than ever that even immediate and permanent ceasefires cannot be what we focus on. COMPREHENSIVE MILITARY EMBARGO on Israel is the only way forward. So far, only 5 countries have suspended arms sales since Israel’s genocide in Gaza. They’re listed below, with their female representation in Parliament Netherlands 38.67% Japan 28% Spain 48% Belgium 41% Canada 30.5% I listed the female political and policymaking representation percentages in these 5 countries so we remain cognisant of HOW much of an impact WOMEN have in peacekeeping. Genocide perpetuates within moral, parochial VACCUUMS which favour the Military-industrial complex. Israel’s arms supply comes from: US - 69% Germany - 30% Italy - 0.9% Meanwhile, the Top 3 countries purchasing weapons from Israel are: India - 37% Philippines 12% U.S. 8.7% REMEMBER - the boycotts ARE working. - talking about 🍉 on social media stops genocide from disappearing from mainstream news cycles.
