This feels like a really fascinating development in governance (or was, I missed the first appointment a while back). How might other organisations and their boards be shaped if they designed changes to governance through this lens?
Mother Nature is Hiring! Could you be her voice on our board? With the natural world as our muse at House of Hackney, our aim is to unlock a business model that moves away from an exploitative capitalist one, and instead honours, protects and centres Nature. We want to be held to a high level of accountability for working towards this so, in 2023, we legally recognised Mother Nature & Future Generations on our board, as a director. After a pivotal first year with Brontie Maria Ansell of Lawyers for Nature as our inaugural representative of the Mother Nature & Future Generations director, it's time to pass the torch. We are looking for a Nature-centred, big thinker who ideally has working knowledge of product manufacturing and sourcing; who can critically assess our activity, challenge us by calling out gaps and opportunities and connect us with expertise that compliments our mission to become a measurably regenerative business. Could you represent Mother Nature & Future Generations on our board or know someone who could? This is a paid, 3-day-a-month position.
