Conceptual working for a project with a double-height space and aiming to blend traditional and modern design elements effectively. Design Concept 1. Wall Lights: Using wall lights instead of a major ceiling fixture is a great way to enhance the verticality of the space and draw attention to the height. 2. Handmade Ceiling Light: A distinctive, handmade light fixture can act as a focal point, offering a modern touch while integrating artisanal craftsmanship. Ensure it complements the wall lights and doesn't overpower the space. 3.Brick Cladding: It creates a warmth and adds texture to the wall. The authentic brick cladding provides a rich, tactile surface that evokes warmth and tradition. 4. Modern Contrast to balance the traditional brick with modern elements, you might incorporate sleek, minimalist furniture or contemporary artwork. 5. Color and Material Contrast: Use contrasting materials and colors to highlight the fusion of styles. For example, you could pair the brick with modern fluted, metal, terrazzo or glass elements. Some of the practical considerations: A. Functionality B. Acoustic Treatment C. Proportion and Scale By thoughtfully integrating these elements, you can create a space that feels both welcoming and innovative. #corporateinterior #officespace #officeinterior #spaceplanning #Conceptualmoodboard #moodbaord #sketchup #photoshop #illustration

When determining the appropriate size of artwork for your space, consider the room's dimensions and surrounding elements. Start by measuring the available wall space, keeping in mind the surrounding furniture or design elements. This helps ensure the artwork complements and enhances the room. . For larger rooms or spaces above statement furniture, opt for bigger art pieces or create a gallery wall. In smaller, more intimate spaces, choose modestly-sized artwork. Maintaining balance and proportion is essential to creating a visually appealing and harmonious environment. . An actionable tip is to use painter's tape or cut out paper templates to visualize how the artwork will fit on the wall. By doing so, you can experiment with different sizes and arrangements before committing to a specific piece or layout. . Additionally, when selecting artwork, consider leaving at least 6 to 12 inches of empty space on each side of the art, as this allows it to breathe and prevents the space from feeling cluttered. . Remember, it's important to create a cohesive look that enhances the room's overall aesthetic and atmosphere. Consult online resources, design blogs, or seek professional advice if you need help finding the perfect-sized artwork for your space. . #WallArt #ArtworkSize #InteriorDesign #HomeDecor #Proportion #Balance #DecorTips #ArtSelection #Aesthetic #Atmosphere #DesignInspiration #StatementPiece #LargeArt #SmallArt #VisualAppeal #Harmony #ArtfulLiving #Measurements #SpaceEnhancement #FurnitureIntegration #Visualization #ProfessionalAdvice

When I style a room, I use the technique of ‘layering’. Within this technique, the first layer typically involves setting the foundation with wall treatments, ie: paint or wallpaper. Next, I work out the placement of the larger furniture pieces, such as sofas, chairs and sideboards to establish the room's main structure. Once these are in position, I add a third layer with the smaller items, like coffee and side tables. These not only provide additional composition for the space , but set up natural points for artworks and mirrors, which are a fourth layer. The final layer that brings the room to life are plants, lamps, vases and memorabilia to fill in the gaps and create interesting focal points. Elements like rugs, cushions, throws, and curtains then add tactile contrast, as well as visual depth. The end result is beautifully layered design. #donnawhiteinteriors #donnawhite #nzdesign #nzinteriordesign #interiordesign #aucklanddesign #aucklandinteriordesign #topnzdesigner #topnzinteriordesigner #sustainable #inchbald #interiordesigninspiration #interiordesignideas #designer #renovation #homerenovation #design #interiors #homedecor #nzmade #auckland #newzealand #nz #nzstyle #exterior #interior #colour #textile #jamesdunlop #layering #sheen
