JZ Flowers’ Post

Congratulations to Pico Bello Hortensia, Opti-flor, and Afriflora on being named this year’s Dutch Flower Awards winners! Announced earlier today by Dutch Flower Group’s CMO Marcel Zandvliet at the 22nd edition of the awards, these honours celebrate the power of “long-term partnerships” in line with DFG’s 25th anniversary. We’re also proud of our own finalists: Collison (British Tulips), Kreling (Dutch Chrysanthemums), and Leo van der Harg (Dutch Pot Roses), who each represent the quality and commitment that make our industry strong. These awards are a great reminder of the importance of partnership in driving our sector forward. Here’s to more collaborative successes! #dutchflowerawards2024 #makinglifecolourful #dutchflowergroup #tradefair2024 #tfa2024

The 2024 Dutch Flower Awards winners were revealed by Dutch Flower Group CMO|CSO Marcel Zandvliet during the 22nd edition of this event. Tying neatly in with Dutch Flower Group’s own 25th anniversary year, these Awards were judged against the theme of “long-term partnerships”. Pico Bello Hortensia was selected as the winner of the Cut Flowers category. The Plants category Award went to Opti-flor | creating the difference and Afriflora was declared the winner in the Foreign Suppliers category. As a token of appreciation for their significant contribution to the floriculture sector, Matthijs Mesken and Floor Schamp (M.A) from VGB. Dutch Association of Wholesalers in Floricultural Products, as well as Sylvie Mamias from UNION FLEURS - International Flower Trade Association, were also honoured. Before the Awards ceremony got underway, DFG CEO Jan van Dam gave an update on recent developments at DFG and reported on significant milestones reached during the past year. He also took the opportunity to emphasise the importance of flowers and plants for human wellbeing, and underlined the power of partnership: “Close cooperation with our growers is essential for continued innovation and increasing our focus on sustainability, so we can all stand strong together in the future.” Finally, Jan van Dam called on growers and partners to submit projects through the Dutch Flower Foundation, which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary, to continue supporting vulnerable people within our supply chain together.
