The Arbikie Highland Estate on Scotland's east coast is family-owned and home to the Stirling brothers' Farms, Distillery & Distillery Experience. Lately, my shopping trips have been getting longer as I find myself googling brands to ensure they meet sustainability standards. I realized why not save everyone some time? So, I picked out four sustainable spirit brands and built a dashboard to highlight them! 🥂 As I researched these brands I couldn’t help but be amazed by Renais Gin | B Corp™, Avallen Spirits | BCorp, AIR COMPANY, and Arbikie Highland Estate, each taking sustainability to the next level. From recycling grape waste, aiding bee populations, and using peas as a key ingredient, to capturing CO₂ from the atmosphere and using it in production, these brands are revolutionizing the industry. So yes, you can purchase with purpose and brag about these innovative sustainability efforts! Check out my work and let me know what are your go-to sustainable brands? 🌱 https://lnkd.in/e64UKpKy For those interested in how my dashboard went from yellow sticky notes in the draft stage (fig. 1) to the infographic it is now (fig. 2): I began by designing the initial look and feel in Figma. I sourced the bottle and packaging images from the brand's website and enhanced them with spiraling liquid and objects that align with the brand’s identity using Adobe Photoshop. Experimenting in Tableau, I explored the possibilities of dynamic shapes and background images (special thanks to the Tableau Community for introducing me to dynamic background images in maps). Once I confirmed that hovering over the shapes could dynamically change the background image (bottle with liquid), I moved on to building the Excel file for the text content. This approach was different from my usual dashboard creation process, as I wanted to focus on incorporating dynamic images and text after discovering the background image functionality. As someone passionate about graphic design, I was excited to realize that dynamic visuals in Tableau extend beyond just shapes. This project was a great opportunity to explore and push the boundaries of what's possible with Photoshop and Tableau’s background image capabilities.
