Excited to Share! I had the incredible privilege of speaking at this year's Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 under the theme "Inclusive Growth and Innovation." As we gathered to celebrate entrepreneurship and technology's transformative potential, I shared insights on a critical topic: The Role of Agritech in Food Security. Agritech is not just about farming—it's about empowerment and inclusion. Through affordable feature phones, tools like USSD and IVR can be harnessed to connect Africa’s smallholder farmers to markets, weather updates, and vital agricultural resources. This technology transforms lives, making farming smarter, more sustainable, and more profitable particularly for marginalized smallholder farmers across Africa. Did you know that Africa holds 60% of the world’s uncultivated arable land, yet struggles with hunger? Agritech can be the game-changer to bridge this gap—ensuring more farmers become agri-preneurs and food producers for their communities and economies. But here’s the key takeaway: Food security is a collaborative effort. Governments, private enterprises, and innovators must come together to scale inclusive, sustainable solutions. Together, we can double global food production by 2050, using fewer resources through precision farming, AI-driven insights, and sustainable practices. Let’s innovate boldly and inclusively to empower communities and feed the world. To my network across South Africa, Namibia, Rwanda, India, Australia, the UK, and the USA—this is the time to engage, partner, and shape the future. Your collaboration and investment can amplify these efforts globally. Let’s connect and explore how we can make a difference together! 💬 #Agritech #FoodSecurity #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #GlobalEntrepreneurshipWeek2024 #InclusiveGrowth #SustainableDevelopment #TechnologyForGood #Brastorne #KabeloMoroka

Last week AgriFutures Australia outdid itself with over 2,000 delegates at AgriFutures evokeAG 2024 From farming to tech, investors to startups, the rooms were full of exceptional thought leaders and change makers exploring the edge of agrifood innovation in #perth I was privileged to moderate two panels, including… 🗑️ Beyond waste: From obsolescence to value creation A huge thanks to Huia Adkins (Circular Economy, GHD), Edwina Beveridge (Blantyre Farms), Professor Navid Moheimani (Murdoch University), Antony Yousefian (First Thirty Ventures) for helping move the phrase "circular economy" from the aspirational to the realistic. 🚀 Bleeding Edge: Securing a Premium My favourite quote from this session was: “If you take your eyes out of your own category, there’s a vast amount of inspiration and opportunities”. Jay A. (Wide Open Agriculture), Richard D. Lovell (CP Foods), Natalie Sarich-Dayton (Brownes Dairy), John Foss (Fancy Plants and The Chia Company) and Emma Davison (Fremantle Octopus) have all spotted a gap in the market, and they’ve successfully parlayed that point of difference into a profitable solution. 🤯 I was also blown away hearing that food fraud costs the industry $40 billion per year? It was a privilege to hear from exceptional entrepreneurs like Abi Ramanan, whose imaging and machine learning technology startup ImpactVision is an incredible example of how agrifood tech is innovating for good. #circulareconomy #agtech #innovation #entrepreneurship #speaker #facilitation

Growth is a continuous process. So about a year and half I made a very tough decision to maintain Growth while physically being at a particular spot. like a tree, seem not to have changed its position yet the growth is obvious, seen in size and it's productivity. while stock in one position for over a year GreenHubAfrica Group was one opportunity I explored to keep up with the Entrepreneurs journey. with all the knowledge acquired it's time to hit the road again. NAN ORGANIK HOUSE will continue to be part of the production chain that ensures sustainability of food production. Hunger isn't seasonal, so food production should not be made seasonal. #agriculture #enterpreneurship

Theme: The Role of Agriculture in the Township Economy Agriculture holds the power to transform the township economy by fostering food security, creating jobs, and building sustainable livelihoods. Although traditionally viewed as rural, agriculture in townships and urban farming, backyard gardens, and agro-processing has immense potential. It contributes significantly to South Africa’s economy and offers township entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow fresh produce, create value-added products, and meet the rising demand for locally sourced goods. This year’s summit will highlight how township agriculture can be a powerful engine for economic growth, generating revenue, promoting self-sufficiency, and reducing food costs for the community. With township and urban farming initiatives expanding, agriculture is becoming a key contributor to GDP from a local perspective. We’ll discuss how small-scale agricultural ventures can access funding, adopt sustainable practices, and connect with local markets. By investing in agricultural businesses in townships, we empower entrepreneurs to grow their communities, literally and figuratively, while contributing to the broader economy. Summit Overview: We are excited to host the Township Economy Summit & Exhibition 2024 in Tembisa, City of Ekurhuleni. This 2-day summit is the premier event for township entrepreneurs, corporate South Africa and government to connect in an inclusive manner. We will be bringing together over 1,000 innovative township business owners from across the country. Over the course of this two-day summit, it stands as the ultimate platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products, exhibit their businesses, engage in panel discussions, learn and engage in valuable networking opportunities. The summit is themed 'Inclusive Economic Future' with a key focus on information sharing, opportunities and market access. We will be unpacking sectors that are driving growth in our townships: the Green Economy, Manufacturing, Retail & Wholesale, Transportation, Technology & Innovation. Backroom Market and Agriculture. Throughout the two days, we will feature industry leaders and black business pioneers who have significantly contributed to the development of small businesses within the township economy. This summit is hosted in conjunction with the Township Economy Awards. Register Here: https://lnkd.in/d2QWE46m #TEAS2024 #JoinUsForTEA #TownshipEconomy
