🌟 Internship Advice 🌟 Our featured advice this week comes from Ansley Parks, who interned with us in the Summers of 2021 and 2022, and is now a valued full-time employee. Her advice: "Ask to sit in on meetings that interest you!" Chatting with your manager about their daily meetings is very valuable. It gives you real-world learning and a better grasp of the business. Plus, it's a great way to network and feel more engaged. All these insights can really help guide your career and clarify what you want to do. #KahuaLife #EnablingInnovation

Obviously Ansley is a talented, impressive young professional. Her peers should watch her and learn. While business veterans often bemoan the number of meetings they must attend, young professionals can learn a ton. Truthfully, us veterans can too if we get our minds right. How often have we told someone else that "you get out of it what you put into it"? Go into it like Ansley says, with a desire to learn and grow.

Thank you for sharing my advice! Sitting in on meetings was invaluable during my time as an intern to full-time employee. It helped me understand Kahua better and connect with the team. Don't hesitate to express interest and ask questions – it shows your eagerness to learn and can shape your career path!

Great words of wisdom Ansley. I would also recommend asking to sit in on meetings that seemingly may not interest you as well. This broadens your knowledge of the company and who knows, maybe you end up choosing a different career path because of it.....

This is great advice, Ansley! I heard similar advice on a podcast this morning saying to bring people along to meetings that they may one day need to know about. Asking to come along is just another way to expand your understanding and find ways that you can add value. Love it!

Can't agree more! Be curious too. Ask a lot of questions.

That is some sound advice, Ansley!
