What is needed to drive systemic change at scale? We set out four core criteria for mature landscape initiatives that have the potential to deliver that change. This joint paper for new and existing landscape initiatives and those who support them, provides a checklist to help improve effectiveness and assess system maturity. Having these criteria in place can help initiatives to become: - more resilient - more attractive to investors - better placed to deliver positive social and environmental outcomes We’re excited to launch our collaborative study on the criteria for thriving landscape initiatives. It provides a comprehensive framework for fostering sustainable and meaningful landscape efforts. We are so thrilled for the launch of this amazing resource! The Nature Conservancy is proud to have contributed to the development of this guidance. This guidance provides further clarity to support engagement in landscapes (and watersheds, jurisdictions, seascapes, foodscapes) as a crucial means to drive the collective action and financing we need to ensure positive outcomes for nature and people. Landscape approaches also give us the ability to meaningfully monitor change together, rather than in silos that only give us one glimpse of the bigger picture. There are avenues for companies to support landscape initiatives that maintain the bottom-up methods needed for success, while enabling the credibility and standardized criteria that the private sector require, and this resource is one key piece. #landscapes #corporatesustainability #naturepositive

Delighted to receive the VIP membership of the Global Ambassadors of Sustainability. The Aral Wetland UNDP Funded Program for Sustainability of Protected Areas, Protect the endangered species and the tribal livelihood sustainability will enable my learning in this important domain. A few lines on the Aral Wetland Project. The Aral Wetland Project, initiated by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aims to restore and rehabilitate the wetlands of the Aral Sea basin, which have suffered significant environmental degradation due to water diversion for irrigation and other human activities. The project focuses on sustainable land management, biodiversity conservation, and improving the livelihoods of local communities. Key objectives include restoring the ecosystem services of wetlands, enhancing water management practices, and promoting alternative livelihoods that reduce pressure on natural resources. The project also emphasizes community involvement and capacity building to ensure long-term sustainability. By addressing both environmental and socio-economic issues, the Aral Wetland Project seeks to revitalize the region's ecological health while supporting the well-being of its residents.
