📢 Planning for Future Employability Events in Schools: Setting Students up for Success 🚀 As we plan the next year of Practice Interviews, Career Fairs, and Meet the Professionals events with Elevate Education Business Partnership, I’m reminded how important it is to provide students with these real-world experiences. From practicing interviews to connecting with industry professionals, these opportunities build confidence and prepare students for what’s next. It hits even closer to home this year, as my own son just started high school. Like any parent, I want him to be equipped with the tools, experiences, and skills that will set him up for success in the workplace. That’s why I’m always looking for ways to update our practices to reflect real-world challenges and opportunities wherever possible—so students are better prepared for the actual demands they’ll face in their careers. 💼📚 A huge thank you to the schools, employers, and volunteers who make these events possible. Together, we’re empowering the next generation, including kids like mine! #Employability #CareerDevelopment #FutureReady #Education #StudentSuccess #CareerFair #SchoolEvents #ElevateEBP

To all the career services professionals out there—this is your season.🎸 Right now, you're doing more than just planning career fairs and coordinating logistics. You’re: ↳ Rallying alumni and employers to campus to recruit your students. ↳ Prepping students to not just show up, but to shine—making sure they’re ready to connect, impress, and land those opportunities. Behind the scenes, you’re managing the chaos, ensuring every interaction runs smoothly, and making sure both students and recruiters walk away with a great experience. It’s a lot. And I see you. Every late-night email, every last-minute prep session, every detail—you’re pushing hard to get students those interviews and opportunities. 💪 It’s not just your job; it’s the difference-maker for So. Many. Futures. So here’s to you.🍾 🎷 Keep going, keep rocking it. Your work matters! (Repost for others ♻️) #careerservicestransformation #careerequity #careerfair #highered

If you’re in college and want to perform well at your first big career fair, here are a few basic pieces of advice: - Look the part. Business casual or professional. Don’t show up in gym shorts. - Bring a padfolio with a note pad and copies of your resume in it. And lastly, some of the greatest advice for standing out I have ever received was in the Sales Program at Kennesaw State. Terry W. Loe, Ph.d. And Brent McCulloch told us to always carry “student contact cards”. At first I thought it was strange. Then every recruiter I handed this card to was blown away. It is simple. Your university logo on the front, and your critical info on the back. The job market is about one thing: How can you separate yourself from the pack? I promise you, nobody is giving out student contact cards in college. Whether or not they like the strategy, I promise they won’t forget it. If you’re interested in having me come speak to your university, or even your small business, reach out to mgmt@higherupwellness.com.

Preparing for college in high school 2. Investigate the options Start a running list of your student's favorite schools or programs. Research and contact each to learn more about what makes the experience and education distinctive. Attend college visits and career fairs. Plan visits to campuses — even neighboring schools that aren't on your top list of favorites can help you choose the right college. #collegeprep #tip #insights

Last week’s IE Marketing Day was an absolute blast! After months of planning, the event was an absolute success! The lineup included two workshops, two panels, a career fair (with over 22 companies!) and concluded with a networking gala. With over 300 attendees, the IEU Marketing Club and I couldn’t have been happier with the turnout! I even had the chance to quiz master’s students on topics we’ve been learning in class. 🤓 Curious to see how they did? Tune in for the interview below and join the fun! #IEMarketingDay #NextBestYou
