𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞: 𝐀 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! #𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘃 #𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 #𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗗𝗲𝘃 I'm thrilled to share my latest project, an action game that I have fully developed on my own using Unity. In this project, I: - 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀: From concept to 3D models, I designed and crafted all visual elements. - 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Brought characters and environments to life with animations I created myself. - 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀: Added stunning visual effects to enhance the gaming experience. - 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Wrote all scripts and game logic to create dynamic and challenging gameplay. 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗱: - Unity - Blender for modeling - C# for scripting - Adobe illustrator for Design and Concept 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: One of the biggest challenges I faced during the development of this game was ensuring smooth and natural animation interactions between the main character and assets or NPCs. Unseamless interactions can disrupt the gaming experience and reduce player immersion. 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱: To overcome this challenge, I took the following steps: 1. 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺: - Implemented a state machine-based animation system in Unity for smooth animation transitions. 2. 𝗜𝗞 (𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀): - Used IK techniques to ensure the character's hands and feet dynamically adjust based on the position of objects or NPCs. 3. 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼-𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: - Added sound and visual effects synchronized with animations to enhance immersion. 4. 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: - Conducted repeated testing and gathered feedback for further improvements. With this approach, I successfully created more realistic and satisfying interaction experiences in the game. I'm eager to hear thoughts and feedback from the community on this work! 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿? I'm open to feedback and further discussions. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking Game development is the process of creating video games, which involves a range of disciplines including game design, programming, art, animation, audio production, and quality assurance. Here’s an overview of key aspects in game development: 1. Game Design Conceptualization: Defining the game's idea, story, genre, and target audience. Mechanics: Crafting the rules, systems, and challenges that define gameplay. Level Design: Designing the environments, levels, and how the player interacts with them. 2. Programming Game Engines: Commonly used engines include Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot. These provide the tools to build the game, from rendering graphics to managing physics. Scripting: Writing code (in languages like C#, C++, or Python) to implement gameplay mechanics, character behavior, and interactions. Optimization: Ensuring the game runs efficiently on different platforms. 3. Art and Animation 2D/3D Art: Depending on the game's style, artists create environments, characters, and assets either in 2D (using software like Photoshop) or 3D (using Blender, Maya). Animation: Bringing characters and environments to life, often with tools like Spine for 2D animation or Autodesk for 3D. 4. Sound Design and Music Audio Effects: Creating sound effects (SFX) for actions like footsteps, weapons, and environment sounds. Music: Composing or selecting music that fits the game's mood and pacing. Voice Acting: Recording voices for characters, if needed. 5. Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) Bug Testing: Identifying and fixing bugs and glitches in gameplay, graphics, or performance. Playtesting: Ensuring the game is fun, challenging, and balanced by having testers play through the game. 6. Production and Project Management Timeline Management: Setting milestones and deadlines for various stages of development. Agile/Scrum: Using development methodologies like Agile or Scrum to manage tasks, especially in large teams. Budgeting: Allocating resources for staffing, tools, marketing, and distribution.
