What’s your favourite biscuit? 🍪 I’m partial to an oatie or a malted milk, but at the top of the ranks has to be the little caramelised delight of Biscoff. And it seems I’m not the only fan. What was once the biscuit of choice for restaurants and cafes, served alongside a coffee, has since become a common addition to everything from cheesecake to ice cream to espresso martinis. 🤩 The thought of how popular it has become popped into my head yesterday as I stood by the coffee machine, eating a teaspoon of Biscoff spread. I even considered mixing it into my coffee! ☕️ But what has fueled this 92-year-old brand's growth? According to the FT, part of the reason is that the pandemic boosted our demand for snacks and at-home baking. The explosion of homemade videos featuring Biscoff in creative recipes has also played a role. Plus, they’ve been smart with global partnerships with the likes of McDonald's, KitKat, and Krispy Kreme. I mean, I’m completely sold. They’ve turned Biscoff from a coffee companion to something that goes with almost anything. And smart marketing, in combination with external forces, has clearly played a role. So, what's your take on Biscoff? Are you its number one fan, or would you rather see a different biscuit rise to the top? #Biscoff #BiscuitLovers #FoodTrends #SnackTime #FoodMarketing #BrandSuccess Lotus Bakeries Photo by Lottie Griffiths on Unsplash
Totally agree! It’s blown up the last few months and I even bought some yesterday for my kids. The power and beauty of marketing…I don’t rate them but they’re everywhere at the moment!
